Reviews summaryOn the day of our one-day tour, the weather was clear and bright. An hour after we set off, we made our first stop in the town of Anglesea to rest. Our female driver and guide, Chloe, had prepared breakfast for us, including cake, instant coffee, hot chocolate mix, milk, and hot water, so we could make our own drinks. Enjoying it by the windy beach made it feel especially warm. Next, we headed to the Eastern View Memorial Arch on the Great Ocean Road and Kennett River to spot wild koalas in the eucalyptus trees. Afterward, we took a stroll along the Maits Rest Rainforest walk, surrounded by ancient, towering trees. After lunch in Lavers Hill, we visited the magnificent Twelve Apostles, Gibson Steps, and Loch Ard Gorge. The itinerary was packed, the scenery was breathtaking, and our driver-guide was very experienced. Although the drive was long and winding, it was definitely worth recommending.
We enjoyed the tour! We had a good time admiring the view of the Great Ocean Road and the temperate rainforest walk turned out to be lovelier than expected. Got lucky to spot wild koalas as well. Chris is a knowledge and friendly guide and he drove smoothly throughout the day.
Easy meet up with our guide, Benjamin who is very nice/friendly/knowledgeable. 1st stop at Torquay while we took a beach walk, he prepared nice muffins and hot drinks as our breakfast. Continued to Memorial Arch at Eastern View. Ben also stop at near Kennett River and halfway to spot wild Koalas. Cape Patton Lookout shown a beautiful lucky rainbow when we were there. Lunch at Apollo Bay, tried their famous seafood pies, very nice. The Melba Gully (Parks Victoria) Rainforest Walk showered us with abundant oxygen and giant ferns. The Twelve Apostles, Loch Ard Gorge and Razorback Lookout offer many scenic views, took so many photos/videos. A very memorable and enjoyable experience! Thank you Ben.
A good experience! Ocean Road was beautiful. our tour guide was a soft person and thoughtful. We had mussels for lunch and was good! Did not have much choice for dinner. Overall recommended and side note, sit at the left side (single seat) to have more view on ocean when travelling.
raquel was our tour guide. we enjoyed every bit of the trip since she explained the history and story behind every stop. she also was very friendly and approachable. would definitely reco this tour!
I joined the Great Ocean Road tour with Go West Tours on 31 July and had an amazing day from start to finish. A huge thank you to our guide and driver, Aleks. She shared lots of interesting history, facts, and local insights that helped us better understand the places we visited. Her commentary was engaging and informative, but never overwhelming. She knew exactly when to explain things and when to give everyone some quiet time to relax, which made the long journey very comfortable. She is also an excellent driver. Despite spending the entire day on the road, the ride was smooth and I never felt uncomfortable. Aleks also knew all the best photo spots and kindly helped us take many beautiful photos throughout the trip. The whole tour was very well organised and ran smoothly from start to finish. Overall, one of the highlights of my trip. Highly recommend Go West Tours, and a special thanks to Aleks for making the experience so memorable! 😊
We had a full day tour on the Great Ocean Road. Our tour guide, Jools, from the West Tour was very kind and lovely. She had a trivia 101 to each place we visited. She also gave us little souveniers together with her Gumnut. This trip was all worth every penny. A must try when you visit Melbourne.
Superb tour with magnificent scenery throughout the day despite the icy and windy weather. Our guide, Sheriff, was excellent and taught us a lot about this region. The little morning coffee with muffins by the sea was a must.
actually , this was the second time to visit the great ocean (my first time is 2018), but yea.. joined different tour company. When compare to my first experience, this time certainly was much more enjoyable as it was a small group visit, and the tour guide (Bree) is funny and extremely nice. She explained everything in details and gave us a lot of information! I wanna her a 5 star if possible. It is unfortunate that we were not able to go down the Loch are gorge as there was a rock falling around that area. But it is nothing related to the tour …😅
It was a well-organised and enjoyable day trip with Go West Tours along the Great Ocean Road. Our guide Raquel was fantastic. She was very knowledgeable and shared lots of interesting facts and stories throughout the journey, which made the long drive much more engaging. This is definitely one of the best ways to experience the Great Ocean Road if you are on a tight schedule. Just note that meal times can feel a bit rushed, especially when shops or cafés are busy with other customers. If you can afford it, taking a helicopter ride over the Twelve Apostles offers a very different and breathtaking perspective. Definitely something to consider. Overall, a smooth and memorable experience that I would recommend to first-time visitors.
