Khmer Cooking Class at a Local's Home

We booked quite last minute and managed to get a slot. Sorya was our teacher and we had the privilege to choosing our menu (4 dishes). She is knowledgeable and helpful. The instructions were clear and it was a great experience! we took teh 1230pm slot hence the market session was after the meal - not all stalls were set up.

We were picked up from our hotel by a very friendly tuk-tuk driver. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by Soria and Kong. We were given a tour of the garden, as everything was made with fresh ingredients. We were well guided and had a delicious meal!

This was an amazing adventure. my husband who doesn't cook got to experience Khmer cooking. I would recommend this to anyone travertine here in Cambodia. Kong our tour guide was very funny and entertaining and our master chef Sivoon made it look so easy. Thank you for this experience.

This is my first time in Cambodia, and I didn't expect that besides Angkor Wat, there would be such a fun activity like a cooking class! 😍 The store arranges for a tuk-tuk to pick us up from the hotel, and we visit the market together to learn about the local ingredients, and then we go to the store to visit their vegetable garden. Thank you, Kong, for your detailed explanation, humor, and friendliness! 👍 I learned a lot while chatting with him while strolling through the market. Next is the Khmer cooking session, where each person can choose to make four dishes, divided into appetizers, main courses, vegetarian dishes, and desserts. Sorya carefully noted everyone's dishes and patiently taught us each dish, what ingredients to use, how much seasoning to add, and how long to cook. Finally, with everyone's cooperation, we completed a rich table of dishes together! 🥳 So delicious, so fun, so fulfilling, and so satisfying! The staff's English is excellent, communication is stress-free, and they can also say some Chinese words, which is really sincere! 🤩 I really strongly recommend friends who come to Siem Reap to experience the Khmer cooking course if they have the opportunity. It's so interesting, you can get close to the local people's lives, and it's very meaningful! 😭

Please please please take the three hours out of your day to take this cooking class. You get to prepare your own meal, which means you can make it as spicy or flavorful as you want. There are many dishes to choose from and you make four courses. It’s a very easy three hours that goes by very quickly. The food is delicious and the staff is very friendly. Shout out to Sorya for all of the enthusiasm and wonderful recipes!!

Amazing experience with the great Kong! We were a group of 5 who all chose our dishes to cook and stepped through each of the 5 dishes we each made (and later ate)! We started with a tour around the local market where many of our ingredients were sort from and upon return to the kitchen space we had a tour of the garden before choosing our dishes. Under the guidance of Chou we cooked and Choy was the assistant in the kitchen area making sure we had a clean space and everything we needed. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone.

very great experience, I would highly recommend anyone who visits Siem Reap should take this course. our instructor was very passionate and friendly. we cooked different dishes (4 dishes per each) but she managed well to guide and support us promptly. i am not good at cooking so didn't expect the food to taste so good but they were all amazing. at the end of the course she sent to us the recipe book which is really helpful! our tour guide was also very knowledgable and friendly, spoke very good english and very helpful. i like the garden tour as well as the market tour as well

I’ve stayed in Siem Reap for 5 days now and this is the best experience so far! the hosts are so welcoming and kind, the countryside of Cambodia is lovely. the food experience is very authentic as well, no tourists traps and the host are very loving and explains everything perfectly. it was very fun! I made a lovely friend on this tour, a great person to have the dinner over, which made the whole experience even better!

I had so much fun doing this! I learned how to make fish amok which I now cook now that I am back home. Our teachers at the cooking school are the best as they are welcoming and patient. We visited a local market and then a short tour around their garden to familiarize ourselves with the ingredients. One class has about seven people so it is not crowded at all. Another thing to do when I go back in Cambodia!
