Reviews
a unique experience! The instructor was a lovely person (we ended up talking about anime locations in Tokyo 😅). The instructions were very clear and, above all, it was a lot of fun... this experience is 100% recommendable.
A really enjoyable and hands-on experience. The chopsticks making class was well organised, relaxed, and easy to follow, even if you don’t have any prior experience. It was great to make something yourself rather than just buying a souvenir, and the process was surprisingly satisfying. The instructors were patient and welcoming, explaining each step clearly and making the experience feel personal rather than rushed. You walk away with a useful, meaningful keepsake that actually reminds you of your time in Japan. A nice change of pace from sightseeing and a great cultural activity to break up the trip. Would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for something interactive and memorable.
What an excellent experience! Hannah and Narato were so patient and friendly. I apparently did not follow the steps correctly, but they were so wonderful as to get me back on track to finish my piece to my liking. I got it engraved for an additional fee and it was the finishing touch to my beautiful chopsticks. Domo arigato! 100% recommend.
had a fantastic experience making chopsticks! Hand carved, sandpapered, polished and engraved. paid extra to make another set of chopsticks too. the instructors were calm, patient and polite. Had a good chat and learnt a lot within 1 hour 15 mins. highly recommend if you don't have too much time during your visit.
We really enjoyed the handcrafted chopsticks workshop. Yuki was very kind. Definitely a very rewarding experience. Highly recommended!!
We really enjoyed the Tokyo Ginza: Traditional Chopstick Making Experience. From choosing the wood that we wanted to make the chopsticks from; planing the wood into the tapered shape; sanding any irregularities out of the wood (and having an engraving of a special message added - which is an optional extra and dependent on time); and finally oiling the sticks. The instructors were friendly and informative. The upstairs workshop (there was a downstairs area too) was well set up with the required tools and aprons. Highly recommend this experience.
we had really great time! All four of us enjoyed the classes. It’s super affordable and fun activity to do while in Tokyo! Staff is very friendly and helpful
This class was so much fun and the chopsticks are beautiful. The staff were super friendly and very helpful
We are on our final days in Japan and this was one of the best experiences we had. Kuni was so friendly and a brilliant Sensei! He made the experience great and we are so grateful to him. It’s a must do experience in Tokyo and is now my favourite souvenir! On a side note. We were a little worried when we arrived as the man with the American accent was a little rude and it felt like we were an inconvenience to him. He really needs to work on his attitude. Thankfully everyone else was super lively and Kuni was the best!!!
What a blast! I booked this experience as a way to kill some time and didn’t expect it to be nearly as fun as it turned out to be, but I was completely wrong. The class, which lasts about an hour, was an absolute blast from beginning to end, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Tokyo area. When you arrive, you’re presented with several types of wood to choose from for your chopsticks. Three options are included in the base price, while additional premium woods are available for an extra fee. I decided to upgrade and was very happy with my choice. Once you’ve selected your wood, the instructors guide you through the entire process. First, you learn how to shave the wood into the shape of a chopstick. After that, you sand it smooth and finish it with oil. You can also have your chopsticks engraved. I chose that option, but the machine had a minor issue, so the staff did not charge me. Overall, this was a fantastic experience that I would gladly do again! Truly memorable!!
