Play winemaker and create a bottle of your own blend with The Blending Bench at d'Arenberg! d'Arenberg is a family-owned winery known to produce internationally renowned red wine in McLaren Vale, a favorite South Australian wine region. They are also known for the quirky names of their wines, and their specialism in the vines of the Rhone valley. The wines are made using traditional methods, and are basket pressed and fermented in small batch open fermenters. On this experience, a professional will guide you through the blending process to mix your own Shiraz using three barrel samples of single vineyard wine. You'll learn about the winemaking process as the instructor explains how the grapes are picked, crushed, fermented, pressed, and aged. Once you're happy with your creation, you can bottle and name your wine—and take home a 750ml sample to show off to friends and family back home!
