DMZ Tour & Exclusive North Korean Defector Meet-Up from Seoul

I highly recommend the DMZ tour with the suspension bridge over the lake. Our guide was Katie, and she was fantastic! She speaks perfect English and provided us with a lot of information in a very engaging way (which made the journey from Seoul to the first stop feel short). Plus, she was always smiling and willing to help with any questions and take photos. The pace of the tour was just right, neither too fast nor too slow, and we had enough free time. I participated in a Japanese tour. Instead of pre-recorded audio guides, a live guide provided detailed explanations. When I asked questions about the explanations, they answered patiently. You get to hear stories from North Korean defectors, and there's a Q&A session, so it's a good idea to prepare your questions in advance. The 3rd Tunnel and Dora Observatory involve steep uphill and downhill climbs, so your feet will suffer if you're not wearing flat sneakers or athletic shoes. I wore low heels and my feet definitely suffered. Along the way, you can see the "Crash Landing on You" gate from inside the bus. There are souvenir shops at Unification Village, the 3rd Tunnel, Imjingak, and Dora Observatory, which you can visit. The product selection is mostly the same, but I believe Imjingak is the only place where you can buy banknotes and coins (though I might have missed them elsewhere). It was a very good experience. Our guide, Chloe, has a wonderful personality; she treats you incredibly well and looks out for you along the way. She provides excellent information, and you're never bored. My family and I absolutely loved it—highly recommended! Even the driver is very kind and attentive. We will definitely be back with Chloe!!!!

It's an easy way to visit the DMZ, which is difficult to visit independently, so I recommend it to those who want to experience North Korea, which is often in the news. Today's tour was one of the best and it was made more memorable by our tour guide Katie. She is the sweetest tour guide that we came across till now. She clicks the best pics for her guests and is also very knowledgeable. We covered all the DMZ tour spots and also met the north korean defector. The colours at the majang lake bridge blew our minds. Katie helped us throughout the trip and gave us enough time to explore and enjoy each place without rushing. I participated in Ms. Kim Ji-yeon's Japanese guided tour. I was a little worried before the tour started because I was participating alone, but she always paid attention to me, so I could enjoy the tour with peace of mind. At the observation deck, she helped me adjust the focus of the binoculars and answered my questions, and I was helped by her kindness. At the 3rd Tunnel, she accompanied me underground, which was very reassuring. The tour included watching a video about life in North Korea, visiting a museum, and also having the opportunity to ask questions directly to a North Korean defector, which was a rare and valuable experience. At the Unification Village in the DMZ, you can buy local agricultural products as souvenirs. The roasted soybean flour soft serve ice cream I ate there had a strong soybean flavor and was excellent! It's worth more than the price, so if you're hesitating, you should definitely join this tour!

Great tour and great guide. Miel is very professional and gave us a lot of informations about Korea History and DMZ. And she is a great photographer also 😉. Highly recommend the guide without her, the tour wouldn't be so exciting.

Our guide, Mr. Kim, was absolutely wonderful and very thoughtful. This trip was incredibly enriching, not only did we gain a deep understanding of the history of North and South Korea, but Mr. Kim also shared many interesting anecdotes about life in South Korea, making the entire tour much more lively and engaging. The weather was beautiful that day, and he was very enthusiastic about helping us take photos, leaving us with many wonderful memories. His explanations throughout the tour were clear and humorous.
