[+90 530 933 05 13](tel:+90530 933 05 13) Built in the 1830s during the reign of Naqshidil Valide Sultan, Cukurcuma Hamami is one of Istanbul’s oldest and most storied bathhouses. Once known as Surahi Hamamı and later Sureyya Hamamı, it has welcomed figures like poet Constantinos Kavafis and was featured in Ferzan Ozpetek’s acclaimed film Hamam. This 90-minute experience begins with a warm-up by the marble basin, followed by traditional body scrubbing, hand and foot peeling, and a relaxing foam massage on the heated Gobektası. It continues with a full-body oil massage in a private room. After your treatment, rest in the Camekanlık (lounge) with herbal tea, dried fruits, and detox water.

Please arrive at least 20 minutes before your treatment. Guests with medical conditions, including heart issues, high or low blood pressure, or skin sensitivities, are encouraged to consult a doctor before booking. We recommend avoiding lotions, oils, or creams on your body both the day before and the day of your hammam or massage treatment. Women and men share the same bathing space and receive treatments together. To preserve the tranquil atmosphere, we kindly ask that guests under the age of 12 are not admitted. For your ritual, we provide all essentials including hammam towels, olive oil based soap, shampoo, conditioner, kese mitt and slippers. If needed, single-use bikinis (top and bottom) or shorts are available at the reception. Your private dressing room is equipped with thoughtful amenities such as a hairdryer,cotton pads, cotton swabs, wet wipes, and a comb to support your comfort with ease and elegance. All products used in our treatments are made with 100% natural and chemical-free ingredients, crafted from centuries-old traditions.
