What to expect
Enjoy painting a traditional Japanese lucky charm, the “Maneki-neko” (beckoning cat), in the peaceful grounds of a temple in Onomichi. The Maneki-neko is believed to bring good fortune, and in this experience you can freely paint your own papier-mâché cat to create a one-of-a-kind piece. The material is lightweight and durable, making it easy to carry during your travels and perfect as a souvenir. No experience is needed, as sample designs and an instructional video are provided, so anyone can enjoy the activity. After finishing, you can take photos with your creation against the beautiful temple scenery of Onomichi, creating a special travel memory. As a bonus, you will also receive a traditional Japanese “tenugui” towel with auspicious designs.
