The Art of Sparkling at Josef Chromy Winery in Tasmania

What to expect
Meet at Cellar Door were you will start a guided tour of the grounds, taking in the history of the vineyard and Joe’s story.
Guests will be taken through the sparkling wine making process while on a guided walk of the grounds, then undertake your own liqueur d’expedition dosage trials to craft a bottle of sparkling to your exact taste. Each guest will receive a bottle of their blend to enjoy on the day and may order sparkling wine at their own dosage rate to be sent following their visit. Here you will also have the opportunity to taste other Josef Chromy wines before relaxing in the restaurant with a 2 course lunch with paired wines.

We were greeted at the gate with a glass of 2019 sparkling wine, which was very atmospheric. Bea was our guide, she was very professional! The history of the estate was very interesting. She was very passionate about being soaked in wine. You can also make your own sparkling wine and take it away after enjoying lunch. Please note that you need to drive to the winery by yourself, remember not to drive after drinking (leave a companion who does not drink) 😆 Unfortunately, we can't visit the winemaking process, and there are no fruits on the grape vines in winter. We ordered oysters at our own expense, which were fresh and delicious.
