What to expect
At “SOBAGIRI-RAKUJYO” in Kappabashi — Japan’s famous kitchenware town — you can enjoy authentic soba (buckwheat noodle) making, a tradition since the Edo period, in just 30 minutes.
Unlike sushi, soba is a quieter, more refined part of Japanese food culture, loved by those who value craftsmanship. In this hands-on class, you mix, knead, roll, and cut the noodles with a real soba knife — a unique and satisfying experience.
We use premium buckwheat flour from Shinshu, Japan’s top soba region. Thanks to our original smart method, soba can be made in 30 minutes instead of the usual 90, making it easy for both adults and families.
Vegan-friendly flavors are also available. A short but truly authentic Japanese experience — please try it in Kappabashi!
