I recently returned from a 7-day private tour of Yili in Northern Xinjiang, and it was nothing short of spectacular thanks to our exceptional driver Mr 马兵 (小马哥). Throughout the journey, he made our trip seamless enjoyable and truly memorable. He was an expert in local knowledge, introducing us the best food places to experience fantastic local Uyghur and Kazakh delicacies that we would've never found on our own. The roads in Xinjiang can be long and arduous. His driving was smooth, cautious, and reliable. His vehicle was clean, spacious, and well-maintained. Plus point! There's a fridge on board that we chilled our yohurt and drinks. Overall this makes the long drives between destinations comfortable and enjoyable. Unlike rigid group tours (also known as 大巴团), 马兵哥 tailored the trip to our preferences. Spending extra time at respective attractions were possible without hesitation. As a local Hui ethnicity, he shared numerous fascinating stories about Yili (his hometown), traditions, and the best spots for photography. His warm personalty allowed us to feel that we were traveling with a friend rather than just a driver. If you are planning a trip to Xinjang (northern/southern). I highly recommend hiring a private driver like Mr 马兵. His professionalism, local expertise, and genuine kindness elevated our overall experience beyond expectations. Overall a great experience. Hassle free. Airport pick up & accommodation arrangements were great with certain standards. Comfortable mini van throughout the journey. Although itinerary is a little rush but it also depend on the group punctuality and time spent in each stop. Great service overall, satisfied with the service. Especially airport drop-off, even I extended my stay in Urumqi after the tour, they can still arrange a the drop off service on the day I'm leaving. Very stunning view, unfortunately I can only share 6 photos in this review.

This tour is cost-effective. We saw a lot of magnificent Xinjiang scenery on this trip, which was very shocking. The food was also good, and we tasted a lot of Xinjiang delicacies. In addition, the leader and driver were very nice, which made everyone have a lot of fun on this trip. I highly recommend this tour, Xinjiang is worth visiting.

The scenery is beautiful (photographs really do not match the magnificence and shock of what you see with your own eyes), the food is good and every meal is to your liking, and the entertainment options such as cable car rides, performances, snowmobiling, and ski tubing are all very fun. Xinjiang is particularly beautiful in winter, with snow-capped mountains and lakes. We also saw the starry sky at night and the animals along the way. The leader Xiaote was also very humorous, making this trip even more interesting.

The itinerary is rich, the arrangements are considerate, and the accommodation is comfortable~ A great travel experience! I will definitely go to Xinjiang again if I have the chance😆

A little bit about this trip: First of all, the drivers who picked up and dropped off the airport were very enthusiastic and punctual, super nice! However, after the trip started: 1. On the first day, the car broke down just before we left the hotel on the road. We had to wait from 9:30 to 11:30 to get the car repaired. Due to the delay in time, I didn’t make it to the Sunset at Jiangjun Mountain + Ski Resort Disco that was advertised on that day’s itinerary. (There was a problem with the car and there was no car to replace it!) 2. The most important thing was the trip to Sailimu Lake. As a result, the off-road vehicles and snow tubing included in the trip were canceled on the day we arrived. The loop around the lake described in the itinerary actually arrived, but the driver kept emphasizing that there was not enough time, so he couldn't finish the loop today, which made people feel like he was in a hurry and the whole trip was rushed. Without the so-called off-road vehicles and snow tubing activities, there were only four stops. Originally, there was a second trip to Sailimu Lake in the itinerary, and I thought it didn’t matter. There are always many regrets when traveling, but! ! ! ! In the evening, he said that the sunrise trip the next day was also cancelled. The driver said that there were no cars in the scenic area, and his car had a mileage limit and could not go to Sailimu Lake again. We said it didn’t matter if we couldn’t see the sunrise, and hoped that we could enter Sailimu Lake according to the second itinerary. We also expressed our willingness to rent another car to go there, but we were also rejected. Although the itinerary contract mentioned that the weather was bad and if there were no cars in the scenic area, the driver would park in the parking lot and let us roam Sailimu Lake freely, but the actual driver said that there was no such thing. The driver kept stressing that his mileage was not enough. The only other option is to return to Urumqi and add a Xinjiang Ancient Ecological Park to the itinerary. But we chose this group just for Sailimu Lake, and the replacement plan was not what we wanted at all. But there was no choice. In the end, we gave up the ecological park option and arrived in Urumqi at around three o'clock, ending the entire journey. For the group members who went to the Ecological Park, the driver said that they needed to take a taxi and return to the hotel on their own... He did not have time to wait for pick-up. The dissatisfaction mentioned above was marked in the contract as a complimentary service and cannot be used as a basis for complaints. However, the highlight of most modified itineraries is the complimentary services... The climate in winter is changeable, so I understand that the itinerary will be biased, but I kept missing this and that throughout the whole trip, and there was no clear alternative plan. Really It affects the mood very much. Please consider it carefully... Please check carefully before traveling. Xinjiang is beautiful but it is not easy to go there... Sailimu Lake is really beautiful! ! ! So it’s really disappointing that you can’t enter the second place! ! ! !
