Reviews
Everything was great. Got an introduction into the history and art of sumo. Our guide Joji was knowledgeable and gave us great insights into the rules and also information about the sumo wrestlers.
what a great experience to watch the Sumo Tournament in the heart of Toyko. instructions for meeting our guide were easy to follow and the whole afternoon was great.
I witnessed the last day of the Natsu Basho, the May tournament at the Ryogoku National Arena in Tokyo. Was lucky to get the tickets for the last day of the tournament where the senior divisions of the Joryu and Makuuchi were battling. Our guide Taka-san was super enthusiastic throughout and filled us with information and nuances of the sport to make the experience enriched. I still feel the price is way too much considering the seats are far away from the ring or dohyo. But the experience is worth.
superb day out and what an atmosphere. arrived late and thought we missed out but the staff on the ground were there waiting and seamlessly got us to our seats. guide was very attentive answering all questions and having fun with us to make the experience as good as it could be 5 stars
Absolutely fantastic! Our guide was Yuko and she was so knowledgeable and helpful. She explained in detail each wrestler as they came on and thought us the proper stadium etiquette. She even brought us different booklets so that we could understand the event and wrestlers. Seats were fantastic, could see everything. It was very exciting and I would highly recommend this trip if you are visiting Japan!
it was my wish one day to attend sumo Tournament it was perfect starting from the guide till the last match much exciting you will find it there 👍
Attending the Grand Sumo Tournament was a truly amazing experience! Our guide, Oku was fantastic. He explained the sport so well and enthusiastically shared stats and stories about each wrestler prior to their bout. He even got us all cheering for his favorite wrestlers. I would highly recommend this experience!
You need to look for someone in a neon green vest with the green sign taped on her/him. then they will assign you a color, look for someone holding a flag with said color and that will be for your group. you will then get your ticket and proceed with your night.
Great experience totally worth it!!! Great job by the guides!! Meeting point might be a little hard to find since there is no sign, but the google maps marker is accurate
Our group chose this option since we weren't able to get tickets directly. Though it was more expensive, I believe it was the right choice. Our guide not only walked us through the arena, he also gave us a nice history and explanation of sumo wrestling and it's history in Japan. I loved learning more about the significance of the sport and it's history. Our guide was kind and answered any and all questions we had. He was clearly kinowledgeable and kind. He also was proactive and gave us tips on when to use the restroom, buy snacks, and walked us through the small museum in the building. Overall, this was one of my favorite activities of the trip and would recommend to anyone visiting Tokyo!
