However, due to the loud engine noise of the ship itself, it is sometimes difficult to hear the commentary completely. If you want to fully understand the explanations, it is recommended to do some simple research beforehand as a supplement. The overall boarding process is very smooth. Simply show the QR code of your reservation at the pier to quickly redeem your ticket. There will also be staff on-site who clearly indicate the queueing flow. The boarding and ticket exchange locations are very easy to find, making it very foreigner-friendly. This is a relaxing and pleasant cruise experience where you can enjoy the scenery of Matsushima Bay, one of the three scenic spots of Japan, without having to walk for a long time. Whether it's your first time visiting Sendai or you want to enjoy the bay scenery in a leisurely way, this is a very worthwhile itinerary to consider.

Easy to change boat tickets, comfortable trip. On the way back from Matsushima Coast to Sendai, you can conveniently visit Mitsui Outlet Park. Because it was Black Day, Nike had a 30% discount. I've been to many Japanese outlets, and it's the first time I've seen Nike with a 30% discount, it's really cheap.

The ticket collection office is at the boarding area, so be careful not to go to other places and see the ticket collection window to collect it! The ticketing staff will still ask you to go straight to the right. Don’t be too tight on the time to collect your tickets, because the boat leaves on the hour and you will be late to board the boat! After boarding the boat, take indoor photos of the bay view outside. You can roughly see the corresponding island by comparing it with the introduction.

The boarding and ticket pick-up location is at the pier, which is a short distance from JR Matsushima-Kaigan Station. Exchanging the tickets was quite convenient, and the boat was large and not too rocky. There was also a guide on board, but the commentary was in Japanese. Overall, it was convenient and worthwhile.

I purchased a temporary ticket two days before boarding the ship. It takes about 40-50 minutes to drive from downtown Sendai. There are 4-5 boat operators on site to provide services, which makes it feel like a summer vacation.
