This specific tour promises an exhilarating adventure, departing from Reykjavik's Old Harbour and providing an up-close encounter with these fascinating birds in just one hour.
Located about 15 minutes away from Reykjavik's Old Harbour, Lundey and Akurey are two small islands renowned for their vibrant birdlife, including puffins. Special Tours' speedboats, with their shallow draft, allow for optimal proximity to the islands' rocky shores. Upon arrival, the engines are silenced, allowing passengers to immerse themselves in the sights and sounds of the bird colonies while a licensed guide offers insightful commentary on puffins and other bird species commonly spotted during the tour, such as northern fulmars, gulls, arctic terns, and black guillemots
Reviews
You can save time and see a lot of puffins. The only drawback is that you can’t get very close and can only watch them from a distance on the boat.
