Uzushio Cruise Experience in Awaji Island (Foreign Guests Only)

Quite the experience to go see the whirlpools! Even though we only saw small ones during the timing I went, they were still a sight to behold. The Japanese guide lady on board was tireless in explaining whatever we were seeing (yes it's only in Japanese). The views from the boat especially having both the bridge and whirpools together were lovely. Recommended!!

With it being a long weekend, the lines were long, so booking tickets in advance saved a lot of time. The ship's departure felt ceremonial. Remember to check the tide times for the best chance to see the whirlpools.

You can exchange your QR code for a boat ticket directly at the counter on the day of your visit. It's a large boat with many locals. The explanation is only in Japanese. You can see the spectacular whirlpools. The whole experience takes about 1 hour, but the boat trip is about 40 minutes round trip, and the viewing time is about 20 minutes.

This attraction offers excellent value for money. The ship is well-maintained and pleasant. The guide spoke Japanese, but we were still able to see the whirlpools. A timetable was provided on their website beforehand, allowing us to choose the best viewing time for the whirlpools.

This is a tourist attraction worth visiting. Even though the effect on the day was not as great as expected, it did not dampen our interest. Because this is a big ship, the elderly and children did not feel seasick. It felt very calm and it was a good experience.
