Reviews
Reviews summarythe experience was great however, printed on the ticket itself is the price of only 5000yen yet I paid 18000yen. the orientation and free items (fan, brochure) don’t seem to compensate for the markup. guide also got a little lost while trying to find our seats.
I planned on buying the tickets outright on the official website, but the site crashed for me even though I was on it 1-2 hours early. Klook saved the day and allowed my boyfriend and I to still be able to experience the Grand Sumo tournament on its first day in Osaka and our last full day in the area. Sunrise Tours was very helpful in making our experience a great one as well.
This was my first time visiting a sumo tournament and I tried to get tickets through the website but that was impossible. I came across Klook and in no time I had a ticket. Before the tournament we were given a lecture about sumo which was interesting and afterwards we were brought to the arena. The guide was on hand to answer any questions. I wouldn’t hesitate booking again through Klook.
It was a great experience. Directions were simple and straightforward. lecture provided just enough information to understand sumo. Guides were friendly and responsive. proce was reasonable compared to tickets on secondary market.
The sumo was excellent. bit of confusion on meeting point as it stated 6f when it was actually on 7f and a few of us were standing around until a hotel employee assisted us. Good info on the history and the guide ensured we were all secured in our seats. Just would have liked to have known about the rules and some of the ceremony that went on during the match even if it was stated in the literature ad sometimes a man would come on chanting with a fan and the referee would also say things but we were left wondering what that was. Even info on how many times they get up before they wrestle and if the slapping if the belts indicates anything as the crowds cheered when they did this. Thoroughly enjoyed it though but needed to google the rules and all the pomp that goes with it
It was a wonderful experience and we had so much fun! Yuki was a great tour guide and explained everything perfectly. It was an absolute highlight of our vacation and we would recommend everyone to book it!
Beautiful experience! We learned a lot about the art of sumo, we saw demonstrations and the winner's dance with a wooden pole was really beautiful.
The booking and logistical arrangements for the sumo experience were exemplary, but the guide's insights during the actual competition were somewhat sparse.
Incredible!!!! I loved it!!! But be careful, meet at the Swissotel and on the 7th floor, not the 6th!!
Such a cool experience! Our guide was so friendly and engaging. She made the experience even better by giving us more information about the sumos (local favorites, nicknames, etc) and explaining things during the matches. This was one of the highlights of our trip, so much fun
