Great stay experience, nice service and delicious meal. Shuttle bus from the train station is provided on request, call them and they will pick you up.

very scenic place for onsen and sight seeing. the location is walkable from the Hakone-Yumoto train station but you can arrange for pick up once you reach the train station. Enjoyed the dinner and breakfast too.

Aura Tachibana is definitely a hike to get to from the Hakone-Yumoto station. For guests, they provide a bus to take you down to the Tourist Information Center near the Hakone-Yumoto station. I wonder if the bus is also offered to guests who have yet to be checked in. The staff is super helpful-- they booked a taxi for us, as well as help us figure out the losgistics of getting us and our luggage to the airport. The restaurant staff is also great (many of them being trilingual!) and I love that Aura Tachibana serves a seasonal menu. I was definitely quite stuffed at the end of breakfast and dinner. The soups were always my favorite. Aura Tachibana seems to be an older hotel-- they have keys instead of the card key that we're used to. When you go out of the hotel to explore Hakone, the front desk staff will hold on to your key for you. The ceilings are rather low in the hallways, so it may be a bit clausterphobic for ya if you're over 6ft tall. We did not get a chance to use the rooftop or public baths, but the rooftop is a great place to enjoy the view and nice weather. Our room was pretty clean. I was very happy with the amenities that were provided. It was one of the few hotels we stayed in that actually provided lotion in the guest rooms. My only complaints would be that the shower smelled very mildewy (maybe we just needed to leave the door open for additional ventilation), there was leftover water in the kettle from a previous guest, room decor seemed rather dated (though not the biggest issue since the hotel was mostly for sleeping, eating and the open air onsen), the elevator in the second building was so slow we ended up taking the stairs most of the time, and the room survey was only in Japanese (perhaps have an online survey option instead?). Overall we enjoyed our stay here.

the hotel is on top of the mountain, it was a kind of difficult walking up the hill with luggages , the hotel do offer free shuttle services. , beside that, we love the hotel environment and the friendly staff. their dinner and breakfast are very beautiful and appetizing. it was a fun experience wearing yukata inside the hotel. there are many restaurants and snack stalls by the train station.
