This was my second stay at this wonderful, historical property. Be sure to get a front facing room for views of the Fraser River. Big thanks to Gabe, I think it was, on the desk. Thanks for all the ice and the extra coffee! The cleaning staff are terrific. I was so glad to get an early checkin. Have to mention Happy Hour at the pub. That was fun. I will be back, in a few months, for my 3rd stay in less than a year. I love the New Westminster riverfront!

Good

Simple, utilitarian hotel—a little run down and very much in need of maintaining (the shower in my room had so much calcium build up the shower head barely worked, and the carpet was visibly stained)—with excellent staff. I’ve stayed here before and would again, but it needs a little love.

The hotel is a wonderful boutique style place full of fantastic artwork and open sitting areas on each floor for guests to mingle in during the day. Our room on the 4th floor was clean and spacious, with high ceilings, a comfortable bed, a Keurig for coffee and mini fridge, and window air conditioning. The location is fantastic for walking, just a few blocks away from all sorts of shops and restaurants on the pier, and extremely convenient to public transit via the bus or the Sky Train, which was very quiet. Even though we could see it from the room, we barely ever heard it. The staff was friendly and polite always. Overall, a fantastic stay and I'd recommend The Met to anyone wanting a getaway to New Westminster.

First be ready to pay an extra $20/night for parking. Second the A/C is a cheap window A/C so it’s loud and you can hear outside as if the window is open. The mattress is quite old. And generally dated rooms. It would be fine at half price, but at the going rate $200+/night I would chose somewhere else

The parking off site wasnt too bad . The pier was available not so sure how this will work im summer visits. I wasnt too keen on the lobby bathroom being in the pub 2 doors down ??? The staff member Pedro was so awesome with his service!!! He brought us ice and fixed our TV!!!! Thank you for the history lesson as well. I love learning about the places I stay in. This was one of the oldest hotels ive stayed in. Its cleanliness was incredible! Thank you in advance for everything.

Third time staying at The Met, old school building with excellent staff. Across from a waterfront park and beside a Skytrain station very convenient location.

This place has gone terribly down-hill. My room had the most stained carpets i have seen, and i would not take off my shoes. Long black hairs in the bedsheets. Needs repainting badly, and the loud bar patio kept us up til 3. Management could care less. This is a fleabag. Dont stay here
