The staff was absolutely incredible and the breakfast and suppers were amazing. This was the highlight of our trip! A lot of things can be walkable within the towns, but a car makes more sense for any of the heritage sites. There is only one restaurant open until 8:00 pm that is about a 9 minute walk, but everything else closes pretty early. Stocking up on supplies is a must - but 10/10 recommend eating at this Ryokan! Everything was amazing.

I stayed 1 night to explore the surrounding World Heritage villages and it was amazing. The room was spacious and clean. The bed was very comfortable. I had dinner and breakfast and both were plentiful and delicious. We were offered rides to the villages and given guidance on how to take the bus as well. I highly recommend staying here to enjoy the Japanese Alps

Outstanding experience! Our room was spacious and beautiful. The breakfasts were delicious, beautiful and plentiful. We had their dinner feast one evening and it was extraordinary! The surrounding countryside is MAGNIFICENT with beautiful bridges connecting the steep sides of the river gorge. Lovely rice paddies and super friendly townspeople. Visiting the”Gasso” villages nearby was a highlight as was taking walks around the area.

Everything about our stay was great! The owner/operator of the Ryokan was very accommodating. A family-run ryokan that I don’t mind staying in again next time around.

Great

The owners of the ryokan were very accommodating, kind & helpful. The room is big & adequate. Excellent breakfast. The only minus is that there is limited transpo to the inn. And there are no stores or restaurants near the inn. So you need to eat dinner in another village or bring food home.

Good

The overall ryokan is quite old and tired. Beds and furniture are a little bit worn for the price paid. Fortunately, dinner and breakfast are gorgeous.
