Things to do in Kameoka

A peaceful and entertaining boat ride through the river. I felt safe 100% of the time and the boatmen were funny and entertaining. safety: 100% - everyone wears life vests experience: scenic view of beautiful nature, lush green forests everywhere (would be amazing during Sakura season and later in October/November when the trees change colors) with some fast moments on the river instructor: proficient in English, absolute charming and knowledgeable about the area. also: super funny - everyone was laughing location:the ride ends near entrance of Arashiama Bamboo forest

I had an amazing experience on this Kyoto day trip, and a special thank you to our tour guide, Hua Hua! ❤️ As a solo traveller visiting for the first time, I was quite scared and unsure of what to do. Hua Hua was incredibly friendly, helpful, and patient, making sure I was well guided and comfortable throughout the trip. Without him, I wouldn’t have enjoyed this experience as much. He truly deserves recognition and praise from the company for his outstanding service. I had so much fun and would definitely come back to be guided by him again. Hua Hua is truly the best of the best!

The fee was a bit expensive, but the entire trip was worth the money. Our guide, Lily, was very lovely and took good care of us. Both the train ride and boat ride were very fun, and despite the leaves not quite turning red yet, the green trees and mountains were gorgeous. The boatmen were also great conversationalists.

Our family of 3, including 12 year old, were very happy with the tour. Hua Hua was very attentive and made sure the group was settled in whenever we changed mode of transportation (mini bus - train - mini bus - boat). We were lucky to have met Hua Hua as he is very knowledgeable.

This was by far the best Klook tour I’ve ever been on! My husband and I absolutely loved our guide, Mr. Joe. He was incredibly kind and provided clear, detailed information about the itinerary, meeting point, and drop-off location. We especially appreciated how he shared interesting history about Osaka, Kyoto, and Nara along the way. His English was very clear, which made communication easy and enjoyable. We were also lucky enough to ride Cabin No. 5 on the Sagano Romantic Train, and we didn’t miss out on the Hozugawa River boat rafting experience either. It was truly a memorable day! Okani Mr Joe! Hope we meet again!

One of the best things we did on our trip!! Everything is provided which is amazing and the staff are very friendly and helpful! The route is beautiful and the rapids are not so extreme. If you're thinking about booking, I would highly highly reccommend it!!

Train: The vintage little train offers gorgeous views outside the window! The creaky carriages and wooden seats make you feel like you've stepped back into the last century. Itinerary: The train, horse-drawn carriage, and boat rides were all a lot of fun, but the boat was definitely the highlight. The two hours were full of laughter and joy. The boatman worked so hard, seamlessly combining manual rowing, performances, stand-up comedy, and sightseeing commentary throughout the entire trip. Totally worth it! Tour Guide: Our guide, Yu Qihang, was amazing! The itinerary was well-organized, and she switched effortlessly between Chinese, English, and Japanese! She also thoughtfully recommended quite a few great hiking spots~

Bamboo forest was really pretty, albeit the crowd can make it hard to take photos. The romantic train seemed kinda meh actually, didn’t really enjoy it. However, the hozugawa boat ride was the best attraction of this day tour; you’ll constantly be surrounded by nature and beautiful landscapes. The boatmen were really entertaining and professional as well.
