It's convenient to get there by JR train or bus. There are many interesting activities at each point inside, and street performances happen periodically. There are several photo zones. Overall, I was impressed with the place. Plus, by booking through Klook, you can scan the QR code for direct entry, without needing to exchange a voucher at the counter again.
Awesome, at the time I was there, the film studio was also turned into a Yokai town. There was a parade with a little dance number and everyone could join in. Neon Genesis Evangelion was amazing and I personally thought the Haunted House was super well done. I had a very nice, relaxing day there.
can experienced edo style village, as I am a tokusatsu fan, there's a Kamen Rider and super sentai Exhibition hall and a Kamen Rider store that sells their merc, I even saw few props that used in the series also exhibit in glass cases, besides there's a Evangelion photo ops taken free for you unless you want a bigger size you have to pay for it. On and off can see some actor dress in traditional robes and dresses and did their performance among us, is a good experience for people whom wanted to experience edo life style.
A wonderful experience at Toei Kyoto Studio Park, a stop I highly recommend, especially for those who love traditional Japan and samurai cinema. I purchased tickets through Klook, and once again, the service was incredibly convenient: easy booking from the app, a simple-to-use voucher, and hassle-free entry. The park is very atmospheric; it feels like stepping onto an Edo-period movie set, with many areas to explore, shows, and interesting attractions. The organization was excellent, and booking with Klook made everything even more practical. A super positive experience, highly recommended.
The park is currently under renovations, but it was still enjoyable and interesting. The Yokai parade is a little short, but very cool! The characters linger around the park for photo ops, so that is also neat. There are really good shows that are entertaining and well performed! The park does close at 5:30 but you can purchase tickets for a night experience, which is also amazing with all the lights and the appearance of the studio park atmosphere. Highly recommend.
I visited this theme park specifically for the Hyakki Yagyō (Night Parade of One Hundred Demons) event. Using this ticket was a great deal, but keep in mind that other activities require additional fees. The admission fee mainly covers photo opportunities. The theme park isn't very big; without participating in extra activities, you can pretty much see everything in about half an hour. The theme park is located far from public transportation. It took me about an hour and a half to get there from Osaka. After the Hyakki Yagyō event, when I wanted to leave by train, I had to wait for several trains before I could board, which wasn't ideal. If you're visiting as a group of four, a taxi might be a better option!
My kids and I really enjoyed the Ninja 3D maze, Samurai sword show, Ninja performance, and the sets. The Cursed Doll haunted house was super scary! You have to pay for all the individual activities inside the park.
We spent a small handful of hours here, chiefly for the Evangelion attraction but also for the various shops and other attractions. The Haunted House in particular was brilliant. As someone who is rather averse to being given a heart attack, I found the scares (including live actors) to be manageable. It features a couple of challenges, which my party failed because SOMEONE said we're not supposed to touch anything even though the introduction video had told us to touch one specific item. The Evangelion attraction was, although wet (rainy day), just amazing. The staff were helpful, took a brilliant photo, and made the instructions in English clear enough to understand. The Eva itself has no staff on-board and visitors are free to move through it at their own pace (on a quiet day), with a couple of unique animations and little tasks to do. The Entry Plug segment is somewhat immersive, given that you're still outside the entire time, and my photo ended up showing me with a dumb smile.
