Guide

The Yonghe Temple is located in the northeast corner of the inner city of Beijing's Dongcheng District and is the largest Tibetan Buddhist monastery in Beijing.
In the 32nd year of Emperor Kangxi's reign in the Qing Dynasty, it became the residence of Yinzhen, the fourth son of the emperor. In 1983, it was designated by the State Council as a national key Buddhist monastery in Han Chinese areas.
It includes Zhaotai Gate, Bell Tower, Drum Tower, Yonghe Gate, Yonghe Temple, Sutra Hall, and Tantric Hall, presenting the standard "Seven Halls of the Sangharama" layout of Chinese Buddhist temples.
From the flying eaves and intricate dougong of the eastern and western archways to the antique eastern and western shanshan buildings, the more than a thousand luxurious and grand halls are well worth a visit.
