Mae Ping River Boat Cruise Tour in Chiang Mai

Great way to spend a couple of hours that doesn’t require more walking. it was a nice pace along the river n the breeze was welcomed in the heat of the day. The little farm was interesting but it wasn’t really a tour as such as there wasn’t much talking or explaining of things. we bought the package that included lunch and it was delicious n well presented n the ice cream at the end really topped it off.

I didn't expect to have such an experience. First: I thought that there were many people who would form a group first. It turned out that only my wife and I were the two of us from the hotel pick-up. It was really like a private group. I should have just sat on the boat to see Look at the scenery and look at the rivers on both sides. It’s so simple. Second: the food is not bad. The fried Phnom Penh noodles are really delicious. There is also water supply, special drinks and ice cream. The waiter even asked if you want it. Eat more ice cream, third: when you go to the dining place, it really has an ancient Thai flavor. I really don’t think you can get it. Overall, I think it’s worth the money. The ordering is smoother than others, just this one, not necessarily the whole itinerary. Because some of the photos cannot be posted on the platform due to the camera, only mobile phone photos are available, so I cannot share them with everyone. In a word, it is worth going on this trip.

Great value. Relaxing trip along the river. The Pad Thai and Khao Soi noodles were so yummy. The fruit drink was refreshing and the ice cream was generously sized. Our guide was knowledgeable and had great eyesight, point out colourful finches (birds) along the way.

While the tour is designed to accommodate up to nine passengers, it felt more like a private tour as nobody else took up the early morning trip, allowing us to enjoy an intimate and personalized experience. The morning weather was delightfully cool, with no pesky insects, making the ride even more enjoyable. Along the way, we spotted vibrant kingfishers, which was a highlight for nature enthusiasts in our family. The guide was exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable, sharing fascinating insights about the river and surrounding areas. A stop at the educational herb garden added an enriching touch to the journey, where we learned about local plants and their uses. Lunch was a true treat – the beautiful location where a Rambo movie was filmed set the perfect backdrop. The meal itself was outstanding: delicious Khao Soi prepared to suit our no-meat diet, served with impressive plating, refreshing juices, and a delightful dessert of ice cream. Overall, the Mae Ping River Boat Cruise is a wonderful mix of relaxation, education, and culinary delight. Highly recommended for families looking for a unique and memorable experience in Chiang Mai!

Quick efficient pick up and lovely guide. We felt very safe on the boat. He gave us a detailed tour when we got to the farm. The food and drinks were delicious. Agree with others that there are a lot of mosquitoes so bring insect repellent.

Excellent boat cruise experience with my family. The boat tour itself was alright, as the boat was clean and well maintained and there were some sights to see along the river. However, the sound system used by the guide was slightly muffled so we unfortunately missed out certain parts of the sharing. The highlight of the trip was the farmer's house visit. The guide shared about the local plants, history of chiang mai and the river and we had a delicious khao soi lunch with a drink and ice cream. Highly recommend!

I could see everything around me until I picked up the tour for the last hour and went to eat, but on the way back, the sun had set so I couldn't see anything. Khao Soi was much more delicious than the one I had at the hotel. It was convenient to have hotel pick-up and drop-off. There was no explanation while on the boat, just getting off the boat and explaining a few trees and plants. Although it may be a bit boring, it was an interesting new experience.

As a rabbit owner, the rabbits were the highlights of the tour. There were 7 rabbits living in a hutch by the river. The food was good too.

It was so good! We were able to see various aspects of the riverbank from inside the boat. People enjoying fishing, children playing in the water, large and beautiful trees, fashionable shops, wonderful mansions, etc. At the Farm House, the guide will carefully explain about the trees and grass. Khao soi was also delicious. The transportation was also smooth.

Enjoy the cruise experience and watch the scenery on both sides. The boatman was very enthusiastic and helped us explain it. After landing, we went to a relatively special restaurant to see some old Thai photos and objects, and also introduced many medicinal herbs. After that, we had Khao soi Northern Thai curry noodles + ice cream in the restaurant. And drinks, the boatman's service is great, you can add more after you finish your meal, but I think it would be better to go in the morning, because the lights are dimmed at night
