Baan Orjao Traditional Thai Costume and Photography in Chiang Mai

Chiang Mai really has the best tours. Our photographer and assistance/driver were so kind and gentle. I really enjoyed their professionalism and care. You get the photos FAST and they are QUALITY. Get there early to get a good colour outfit and its kind of fast. I honestly think they should have a combo/deals for driver, photopgraher + car and custom as most people need to do makeup and hair themselves. Advice for people booking this. Do BOOK! Drink a lot of water/bring water, have an umbrealla and rent a car w/ A/C. Thailand is a different sort of heat than Jamaica and Mexico. I saw the comments and didn't believe the heat, wow! You are like a steam chinese bun in Thailand and I am Candian who has a jamaican background. Wear nice shoes, a make sure the stuff is tight! Take silly pictures too! And yes if you are black you can come here (thank god), they have a lot of sizes (if you are a chunkers like me). Masculine girls can wear the male clothes as I did.

The dress up old lady was so gentle when measuring my body shape with the gown, the stylist was so professional that I thought I was a Thai people. Finally, our photographer was so funny and gentlemen . He gave us easy commands with wonderful pictures! We found ourselves was having another pre wedding again!

I booked a traditional Lanna costume online for a four-hour rental and had a wonderful experience. The costume was clean, fit perfectly, and was made from high-quality fabric, with beautiful jewellery included. The whole service was very professional and well organized—from the hairstyle,makeup, which was done beautifully, to the smooth arrangements for the photographer and car. Everything went seamlessly, making the experience stress-free and enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this for anyone looking for a complete and reliable traditional costume experience.

We took family snapshots during our family trip to Chiang Mai. The outfits were so pretty, and both the driver and photographer were incredibly kind and attentive in many ways. It must have been challenging because we had a baby whose mood kept fluctuating, but they were able to take great photos without showing any signs of difficulty. Thank you so much! I didn’t add makeup, but I highly recommend adding hair styling on-site for 100 baht. It makes a huge difference! Thank you so much, again! It was a wonderful memory for our family!

The overall experience was very good. The staff was helpful and made adjustments if you requested. The pictures came so fast!!! Really nice locations and guidance on poses. Selection of costumes is not big but you will find something. High quality and reasonable price. They are right across from Chiang Mai Tour Center which is a MUST for booking your activites around Chiang Mai!

The Thai costume service was very clean. The makeup artist made me look so beautiful. The photographer was nice and taught us how to pose. The photos turned out super beautiful and the price was great!

Before our reservation, we inquired on Instagram several times, and the staff always answered our questions in detail within a short time. We were a total of 7 people (3 women and 4 men). Later, we booked the clothing and two photographers on Klook and a private van on Instagram. The process was very smooth. We arrived at 9 am that morning, and the staff quickly greeted us. They helped us choose and match clothing colors according to our requirements. The changing and makeup time took about an hour. It is recommended to communicate well with the makeup artist before applying makeup to avoid misunderstandings. Most of the white-shirted staff understand Mandarin, but the makeup artists generally only know simple English.

The Thai costume shop is about a ten-minute walk from Tha Phae Gate. You can go an hour early for makeup. The photo shoot time starts when the outdoor shoot begins. Three hours is usually enough for about three locations. The makeup artist is very meticulous, and the photographers are also very dedicated, even in the hot weather. Please note that foreigners need to pay for temple admission fees when taking photos. We recommend renting a tuk-tuk or car for easier transportation. The shop will send you a cloud link to download your photos in 2-3 days. We highly recommend this for a memorable photo experience!

First time bringing my wife to Chiang Mai to relax, experiencing the magical journey of Thai clothing. Dancing with the pigeons at Tha Pae Gate, visiting the Silver Temple and Wat Suan Dok. Despite the hot weather, the tuk-tuk driver, photographer, and the staff at the clothing store were all smiles, super patient and attentive! I'm on a free trip to Chiang Mai with my mom~ She was awkward about the traditional clothes at first, but she's so satisfied now, haha. She said I made her feel like a queen, haha. She must have liked the moderately fancy style, haha. It was a 4-hour pass, and she was sad when the Cinderella magic ended after 4 hours, lol. She said that was the most fun she had that day, haha.
