Tainan Free Walking Tour

Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable about the history of Tainan and Taiwan by extension. He has so many stories to share about the different periods of Taiwan's history. The one area of improvement I'd recommend is maybe add more locations to let the group move around more as many of us were losing our attention given how in-depth the stories were.

ChinChin was very well prepared, cheerful and helpful. She even open up her own residence for a break and offered water refreshments. This tour is useful for people who want to know to history of Anping from the Portuguese, Dutch, Qing and Japanese occupation era.

Highly recommended! This walking tour was very informative and engaging. Emily answered our questions amazingly and she told a very good story about Tainan's history. Will definitely do this again with a different group next time. Kudos to Like It Formosa for facilitating something like this and sharing Tainan's culture well.

We're in Tainan visiting my nephew who's performing here, not for tourism originally. However, we decided to make the most of our time and found a walking tour on Klook. We did both the downtown tour in the morning and the old town tour in the afternoon. It was quite exhausting but definitely worth it. If you prefer a more relaxed pace, I'd recommend booking each tour on separate days. But for our family, a full day of walking was no problem at all. Overall, the experience was highly recommended. We learned a lot not only about Tainan but also about Taiwan in general. The meeting places were easy to find. Sushin and Emily were fantastic guides; they didn't just give us the tour but also recommended the best places to eat and other sights to see beyond the itinerary. Overall, it was a great experience!

Fantastic tour. Very helpful introduction to Taiwan's colorful history. Stops at many places I wouldnt have found on my own or where I wouldnt have realized the significance.

A big shout out for our tour guide Amily. she is absolutely loved her hometown, with her knowledge and passion for Tainan city, as well as her story telling skill. We all enjoy her tour although it is under the hot sun but she is trying her best to keep all of us under the shade. highly recommended for those who seek to deepen their understanding about Tainan.

This was a fantastic walking tour through the alleyways of Anping district, with a particular focus on houses and walls displaying "sword lions" 劍獅 that are a sort of protective motif common in the area. Highly recommended!
