Pit 1 is an east-west oriented rectangular pit, 230 meters long, 62 meters wide, with a total area of 14,260 square meters and five doorways on each of the four sides. There are long corridors at both the east and west ends of the pit, side corridors on both the north and south sides, and nine east-west passageways in the middle, separated by rammed earth walls. It is dominated by infantry, accompanied by a small number of chariots.

Pit 2 is a mobile, multi-arms mixed force composed of cavalry, crossbowmen, chariots, and infantry. With a complete range of arms, it reflects the flexible and varied tactical layout of the Qin army and is considered a microcosm of the combined operations of multiple arms in the Qin Dynasty.

Pit 3 is the military command center (headquarters) directing Pits 1 and 2. Although it is the smallest in area, it holds a core position, symbolizing the command system of an ancient army. It is the smallest of the three pits, with a concave-shaped layout measuring 28.8 meters long from east to west and 24.57 meters wide from north to south, covering an area of only 520 square meters.

The exhibition is divided into eight units, including Emperor Qin Shi Huang, Lishan as a Mausoleum, Palaces and Officials, and the Underground Legion, showcasing the full picture and deeper meaning of this underground kingdom from multiple dimensions. It systematically displays the important achievements of the archaeological work on the Mausoleum of Emperor Qin Shi Huang over the past 50 years for the first time.
