What to expect
Mirissa is famous for its sands and waves, but there's far more beneath the surface: an incredible array of sea mammals can be found off its coast. Join a whale and dolphin watching boat in seeking out some of the species that frequent Sri Lanka's waters and watch them swim and play in their natural habitat. Out in the waters, you might be able to spot the largest animal in the world: the blue whale. You may also see massive Bryde's whales, long sperm whales with their calves, spearlike Fin whales, and the intimidating Orca, or killer whales. The experience is a purely responsible one: you will not be disturbing the whales in their habitat and simply watch their pods swim along. This goes the same for the dolphins (among them common, bottlenose, spinner, striped, and Risso's dolphins) who will be playing and leaping from the water as they play in the bow waves. It's an unforgettable experience and a must-see for children!

Reviews summaryIt was great, even though we didn’t manage to see whales, but we did see dolphins. the boat trip was agreeable. The staff numbers were very friendly. I enjoyed the fish very much. I’d like to go back, maybe one more time
All good, we saw few whales and many dolphins. you get a little snack, fruits, cake and s coffee. they give you life jacket
wonderful experience! thought we couldn’t spot whales but we had a mesmerising sight of the dolphins
The boat started moving at 6.45 AM and we were supposed to be at the pickup point at harbour road by 6.15 AM. Life jacketss will be provided and also sea pills if asked. Breakfast and water bottle was provided to kick off the journey. Almost 3.5 hours into journey, we were able to finally spot around 5 whales and it wad one of the best moment of our lives. The team handles everyone with care providing help if someone is puking and needs some rest. Finally, on the way back, we were greeted with some water melon, banana and a cake. Thanks to Geeth and the company for this memorable service with experienced squad on board.
We saw whales, dolphins and flying fish. This trip includes breakfast: tea and bread, and pineapple and watermelon at the end of the trip. The captain chased as hard as he could, never missing an opportunity.
Us amidst the vast ocean - so memorable and overwhelming, and spotting the whales was such a delight. Nature is beautiful! We had specified for a vegetarian breakfast prior to this activity but they took some time to organise it, but the hospitality was great. it's natural for the people who react to spotting the whales but I'm not sure how safe things will be if all people aboard stand up to look at the whales more clearly, but the team was definitely competent and we were all given life jackets.
Overpriced experience and not recommended for people with motion sickness. We saw dolphins, but only for a short time. We didn’t see any whales. The trip guide delayed our booking for three days, claiming it was due to the weather, but we noticed that other trips still operated during those days.
It was great. The only thing missing was a travel souvenir.
We were able to see whales and dolphins. I also saw a whale shark in the wild for the first time. I'm very satisfied. Unfortunately, I didn't know where to go at first. I looked for a staff member wearing KLOOK clothes, but there was none. There were many ships. After asking many people, I finally found it. Easy-to-understand consideration is required.
Wow this trip is amazing, we saw lots of dolphins and it was surreal. The guide was friendly and he will alert us whenever the whales are coming. It’s rare to see whales up close but that’s their nature, and at least the guide tried his best not to let us miss out the chance. Coffee and tea, refreshments were also provided. Good service and experience.
