-Itinerary Introduction-
・Kamikochi: "The Home of the Gods"
Located in Matsumoto City, Nagano Prefecture, Kamikochi is a deep mountain area surrounded by mountains such as Mt. Yake and the Hotaka mountain range. The Azusa River runs through it, forming a unique natural landscape. In summer, Kamikochi is a popular summer retreat for the Japanese, with a pleasant climate and stunning alpine scenery. The most famous hiking route is "Taisho Pond ~ Kappa Bridge ~ Myojin Bridge." The "Taisho Pond ~ Kappa Bridge" section is recommended for beginner hikers, while the "Kappa Bridge ~ Myojin Bridge" section is recommended for experienced hikers and climbers.
※When choosing a route, please be sure to assess your own abilities and consider the time required for the return trip to prevent being late or injured.
・Taisho Pond
From the shores of Taisho Pond, you can enjoy the magnificent view of the Hotaka mountain range reflected on the water surface, making you feel as if you have entered a fantasy world.
・Kappa Bridge
Kappa Bridge is the most iconic structure in Kamikochi, built with wood from both banks of the Azusa River. You can enjoy different views from the bridge depending on the weather. The famous writer Ryunosuke Akutagawa focused on Kappa Bridge and Taisho Pond in his novel "Kappa," which made Kappa Bridge famous and a major tourist attraction in Kamikochi.
・Myojin Pond
If you want to go to Myojin Pond, you can choose two routes. One is to go upstream along the left bank of the Azusa River, and the other is to pass through the Yakesawa Marsh and arrive at "Hotaka Shrine Okumiya," where you can enjoy the beautiful Myojin Pond. Since Myojin Pond is often foggy in the morning, the area is shrouded in a mysterious and solemn atmosphere, as if a god lives in the pond to protect the area.
※Please note that this product does not include the 300 yen entrance fee for Myojin Pond.

Reviews
it was 4 hours drive from Tokyo, this trip would require us to walk, they will drop us nearby Taishi-ike pond then we could start to walk, it was 3-4KM to the Terminal Bus. even though it was written that the english guide weren't provided, there is a staff that able to speak english to help us understand the guidance. it was fun and worth the walk
It was worth it!! It’s convenient to go to Kamikochi via tour bus since you don’t need to transfer many times. There will be 2 stops along the way as well where you can go to the toilet and buy some snacks.
It was so much fun. The location is great. Thanks so much to Travix tour.
A very good trip! Although the journey was long, the number of service area stops was reasonable. Plus, we stopped at the Suwa Service Area and got to see Lake Suwa, which was a pleasant surprise. The weather was fantastic that day, and both Lake Suwa and Kamikochi had incredibly beautiful scenery.
Before departure, staff will ensure that all reserved passengers have assigned seating. On the way to and from Kamikochi from Tokyo, there will be two rest stops of approximately 10-15 minutes each. The driver will confirm the boarding time with passengers. The stopover in Kamikochi until 3:30 PM is adequate for independent travelers to walk from the visitor center to Kappa Bridge, return to Taisho Pond, and finally gather back at the visitor center to board the bus. Although the return to the Marunouchi Building meeting point at Tokyo Station was at 9:30 PM, a full hour later than the scheduled 8:30 PM, the delay was understandable due to highway traffic on a Japanese national holiday (Autumn Equinox Day).
I recently had the chance to visit Kamikōchi in Nagano, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience from start to finish. The service throughout the trip was excellent, making the journey as enjoyable as the destination itself.
I almost missed the bus and was going to be late due to the morning's train accident, but I managed to jump on just in time! The ride there was smooth. When we arrived, it was unfortunately raining in Kamikochi, but I still enjoyed the hike. On the way back, there was some traffic, but thanks to the driver's quick thinking, we avoided the worst of it and arrived at 9:30 PM. During the restroom breaks, I was able to enjoy Nagano by purchasing locally grown fruits and snacks. I would definitely like to do this again!
The timings were good, simple and clear, although no Japanese was spoken. 👍👍
It was a great tour but really tiring for one day only, we couldn't see all the main attractions in Kamikochi.
Had a great experience overall! The trip was well-organized, but it would have been even better with a little more free time to explore and roam around at our own pace.
