Nagano, Japan | Day Trip to Kamikochi, Journey to the Home of the Gods! | Departing from Tokyo

Before departure, staff will ensure that all reserved passengers have assigned seating. On the way to and from Kamikochi from Tokyo, there will be two rest stops of approximately 10-15 minutes each. The driver will confirm the boarding time with passengers. The stopover in Kamikochi until 3:30 PM is adequate for independent travelers to walk from the visitor center to Kappa Bridge, return to Taisho Pond, and finally gather back at the visitor center to board the bus. Although the return to the Marunouchi Building meeting point at Tokyo Station was at 9:30 PM, a full hour later than the scheduled 8:30 PM, the delay was understandable due to highway traffic on a Japanese national holiday (Autumn Equinox Day).

I almost missed the bus and was going to be late due to the morning's train accident, but I managed to jump on just in time! The ride there was smooth. When we arrived, it was unfortunately raining in Kamikochi, but I still enjoyed the hike. On the way back, there was some traffic, but thanks to the driver's quick thinking, we avoided the worst of it and arrived at 9:30 PM. During the restroom breaks, I was able to enjoy Nagano by purchasing locally grown fruits and snacks. I would definitely like to do this again!

Throughout the entire trip, the bus driver provided commentary in Japanese regarding the meeting times and important reminders (the crucial boarding times were repeated in English). Unexpectedly, for the 4-hour journey, they thoughtfully prepared two rest stops for bathroom breaks and provided snacks. The scenery was truly beautiful, and I hope to visit again when there are autumn leaves or more snow.

I recently had the chance to visit Kamikōchi in Nagano, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience from start to finish. The service throughout the trip was excellent, making the journey as enjoyable as the destination itself.

It was a great tour but really tiring for one day only, we couldn't see all the main attractions in Kamikochi.

lovely experience, perfect weather. it was tiring because we weren’t very prepared that it was a hiking trip but maybe our fault for not reading thoroughly. But nevertheless, the location was breathtaking! best moment during my japan trip!

it was 4 hours drive from Tokyo, this trip would require us to walk, they will drop us nearby Taishi-ike pond then we could start to walk, it was 3-4KM to the Terminal Bus. even though it was written that the english guide weren't provided, there is a staff that able to speak english to help us understand the guidance. it was fun and worth the walk

It was worth it!! It’s convenient to go to Kamikochi via tour bus since you don’t need to transfer many times. There will be 2 stops along the way as well where you can go to the toilet and buy some snacks.

The staff and drivers were very nice. You get a badge before getting on the bus. I think it’s also good that you are given the freedom to plan your own route. The traffic was a little bad going back though.
