Attending the Yipeng Lanna Lantern Festival 2025 was a magical experience that truly brought my Tangled dream to life. Booking through Klook made everything convenient, and the event operator was impressively organized from the start. Registration at the pickup point was smooth, and although the lines were long, the staff managed them well. One thing to note is that there were no special lanes for VIP or Premiere ticket holders—everyone had to queue in the same line for the bus transfer. It wasn’t a major problem, but it’s something that could be improved for a more premium experience. Once we arrived at the venue, everything felt festive and well-prepared. The food served was delicious, with good variety, and the extra activities—like cultural booths and performances—were engaging and fun. The fireworks show, while beautiful, was quite short at under five minutes. However, the breathtaking lantern release made up for it completely.
transportation - we waited 1 hour standing outside of the central waiting for the buses, they had 18 buses rolling but so much traffic. we went for the VIP ticket had extra beer and closer seat to the shows but the main activity was all together nothing extra. on the way back same thing waited long time in the line for buses at least 50 minutes, the staff was amazing and well organized everyone had 3 lanterns and the whole experience was very nice and beautiful but maybe next year I book with private operators to save waiting time they had own buses and didn’t wait for everyone
This was the main reason we kicked off our Indochina trip. Great 1st time experience. Pickup point was crowded but there were tons of bus you can ride. The location was 1hr away from the main city. They could improve communication though, there were host for different languages but they talk too low and soft you could barely understand. During the flying of lanterns, there were a lot of accidental burns. More education or instruction on how to release those lanterns would be beneficial. Luckily they have tons of staff to assist for any potential danger. BUT, you should be aware of your surroundings as you may catch fire from idiots beside you.
The event itself was very enjoyable, but despite purchasing premium seats, when we arrived, there was hardly any food left, and the all-you-can-drink beverages were cut off early, which was quite disappointing. I felt that a standard ticket would have been sufficient. We couldn't get on the bus either to or from the event, so we just waited around or chased after buses, only to be turned away. Releasing the lanterns was fun, but otherwise, it was really terrible. Next time, I'd like to participate at a different location.
A unique experience, it exceeded my expectations!!! All the gossip on my IG Iru.viajera
It was such a great experience but transpo going back to the hotel will require you lots of patience since theres a long queue.
This is such a great experience for me. JUST BE PREPARED FOR THE LONG QUEUING GETTING BACK TO YOUR HOTEL.
It had been raining heavily the day/night before so the field was sopping wet. everyone’s shoes and pants were muddy and wet. the venue was very well set up, but due to the mud, it was hard to get around if you wanted to stay clean/dry. There were activities to do, however there was not enough space to do them. they needed at least double the amount. The food was good for a buffet feeding 3000+ people. The main event was very nice, and the dancing was beautiful. the seats were very close which meant that when it came time to light your lanterns, you were bumping heads with the people near you. some people behind us, set their lanterns on fire accidentally and it set off a big fire, the chairs were melted and someone’s bag caught on fire- better safety measures are required. We also saw someone leaving in an ambulance and it looked like a small child.
Lantern experience was magical. check in counter can be better with more counters and time saving
IT'S NOT THE ORIGINAL FESTIVAL, the food is cold and horrendous. The grass is a bit long and full of mud. It's the festival, but the Temu version. The organization at the exit was a disaster. The tables were stained. Everything was very sad.
