【Guaranteed】Kyoto Sagano Train, Hozugawa Boat & Arashiyama Walk

the tour was conducted in Japanese, but the tour guide Takagi-san was very helpful and friendly, giving us essential information in English. It was a large group but the guide kept a look out (and constant head counts) to keep everyone together! She would advise toilet breaks as well before the train ride and the Hozugawa river boat rides. The organising company ticket counter had many staff (some English speaking) to help assist in the exchange for the physical ticket. Hence, instructions were very clear. I enjoyed the whole tour, but my favourite was the boat-ride. Gorgeous views and even with my limited Japanese knowledge, I could enjoy and appreciate the humorous commentary by the boatmen.

all the guides were amazing. the instructions to get to the bus stop for the meet up was super easy to follow. the guide was super attentive and easy to follow and the river boat guides were super entertaining. Definitely one of the highlights of our trip. loved that we had so much free time to explore on our own. highly recommend.

Highly recommended, saves lots of time of getting the ticket ( especially the river boat ride)and walking too. If you would like to spend more time there , this trip allows you to do so. Just inform the guide that you won’t be following them back. Feels that my guide is just made sure we are on schedule with the transfers, that’s all.

It’s an unforgettable day filled with memories. Both train ride and boat ride were enjoyable, it’s an amazing experience to grab food between boat in the middle of the journey. The lady tour guide walked quite fast in the crowds so you might have to pay extra attention to catch up but not to get lost, besides she spoke only Japanese while she’s using a translator app to communicate well the meeting time and location. However, it’s a pity that I couldn't fully enjoy the tour in Arashiyama as I was short of time.

Our tour guide was extremely pleasant and helpful. The romantic train was a very pleasant ride to Sagano with lovely scenery. We adored the Hozugawa River Ride. It was amazing. Lots of fun, beautiful scenery. The captain and boatmen were wonderful. They were very informative and funny. We had a great time on this boat ride. We highly recommend this tour. We felt very safe on the boat ride.

Fantastic way to spend the day on a relaxing train and river rapids boat ride. The bamboo first gave us a chance to cool off from the heat. Well worth the $s!

This was awesome! The tour guide didn't speak English but she had signs in different languages so we always knew where to meet up and what was going on. It was very well organized. 4 of us went together and we all said it was a 10/10, we would all do it again! we went in the fall when the leaves were just starting to change. It was beautiful 😍.

highly recommended trip, we enjoyed our Sagano Romantic Train, its a nice 25 minutes ride and the Hozugawa River Boat Ride was exciting.

Loved every minute of this tour! Train ride was amazing, Boat ride 🙌 the absolute best and spending some time in Arashiyama was great too.

The river cruise is quite long (90 mins) and halfway through it became a little draggy - seats not comfy so just be prepared for the long boat ride. Guide spoke Jap but we did have the receiver with English language if you are keen to listen in to the tour. Overall, the train and boat rides and drop off at the Bamboo forest are rather seamless.
