Stayed in two hotels in the Old Quarter during my latest Hanoi trip, and Hanoi La Vision was the better one. To manage your expectations, however, note that the building itself, the rooms, and the amenities are dated. While my room had a window, there was no view to speak of as buildings in the Old Quarter are quite compact and you'll only be seeing the walls of adjacent buildings. A hair dryer was available in the room and the hot shower and air conditioner fortunately work well. There were several electrical sockets which was appreciated. The fridge though was non-functional. There too is no lift so you might consider requesting for a room on a lower floor. If you're staying multiple nights, housekeeping (including toilet paper and water bottle replenishment and towel replacement) will be upon request.
