The location and staff were amazing. However we got caught here during an awful heatwave with a heat shield in July. This hotels windows face the afternoon sun which makes the room sweltering even with the blackout curtains. No air conditioning and the bathroom doesn’t have a fan so the showers humidity just hovers in the bathroom indefinitely. The room does have a plug in fan but we needed to run our handheld fans too. The WiFi is non existent. You can log into the WiFi but it’s faster to turn it off and use your phones data. The tiny kitchenette is good. The location is what redeems this hotel. We loved being near the Le Cordon Bleu school and cafe which was so delicious and the only thing that opens before 10am plus the cafe has air conditioning.

DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL!!! Total scam:
- the room was not only "not cleaned", it was NEVER cleaned: flocks of hairy dust over bed headboard, on the metal fan, on every window frame, on nightstands, TV furniture stand - EVERYWHERE.
- hotel staff totally does not care about you or your complaints: the receptionist wrote down the issues and... did nothing. After the morning "room clean up" no dust was wiped. ZERO issues were fixed
- faucet handle was broken, bathtub - chipped, faucet filter nozzle - broken, bathroom countertop had a finger-width hole.
NO AC IN ROOMS - you will die if it's over 25C outdoors. It's a prehistoric times hotel in the center of London. Yet, they did not forget to install AC in the reception zone (for themselves :). It's simply a joke of a hotel, total scam.
DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL. Do not support scam with your money

The refrigerator is not cool enough for drinks, fruit and yogurt etc. Milk capsules stored inside has been put there for long so we never use those capsules. The tap water can’t be drunk so we asked staff. Staffs told us that not to drink tap water and they would send us water. However no one sent to us even though we asked twice in different time. Staffs always said they would sent us water but never sent us. This was so terrible experience and we hanged out to buy water especially those days are under heatwave

Good Pros: Grange Buckingham is in a wonderful, central location. Many attractions are within a 10-30 minute walk. Our room was big, very quiet, and faced the back garden area. The small kitchen had a microwave, sink, tea kettle and a few dishes were perfect for self-catering a few meals. There are several small grocery shops nearby. The staff were all very friendly. Housekeeping tidied our room everyday and brought clean fluffy towels.
Cons: This hotel does not have air conditioning. Our room had 2 fans, which combined with open windows at night kept us comfortable during high temps. One of the fans was in rough condition and worked, but did not oscillate without making a loud clicking noise. We asked hotel staff for a replacement or repair, but never got one. Other issues included extremely worn carpet with exposed carpet tacks near edges of the walls, ripped curtains, mold on the bathroom ceiling, broken window hinges with peeling paint, and frayed mattresses box springs.
If you are looking for a budget priced centrally located hotel in London and don’t mind a little “character” the Grange Buckingham might be the spot for you.

GreatSolo stay
I’m currently staying at the Grange Buckingham Hotel in London, and I have to say, it’s a really charming place so far. The room I’m in is massive—much bigger than I expected—and it really exuded a charming old-world elegance, just as I imagined the UK to be, with large windows, rich drapes, and that classic terrace building feel. As an Australian, it really delivered on the vision I had of London. The price is also excellent for what you get—there’s a kitchenette, a large bathroom, and plenty of space.
That said, a few things have cropped up during my stay. Coming from Australia, the room feels extremely cold. I can turn on the wall-mounted heater, but it’s one of those UK water heaters, and it doesn’t warm the room effectively—plus, it keeps switching off, leaving me chilly. The bed is okay, but it’s a bit firm, and the two mattresses pushed together create an annoying gap in the middle. Then, there’s a real cleanliness letdown: although the old charm is wonderful, the bathroom is not clean. The toilet bowl had visible stains, and the shower wall was filthy—mold in the grout, dirt all over. The towel also had a large stain; it was washed, no doubt, but it really needed a soak to remove it. Another letdown—no USB ports or power converters in the room, which is surprising, as even budget hotels usually have them these days.
That said, the check-in was fantastic—warm, professional, and very welcoming. The foyer does feel a bit tired and could use a bit of a refresh
