I recently stayed at Ahyu Hotel in Malaysia for a short trip, and it was a mixed bag. The location is fantastic – you're surrounded by tons of restaurants, fast-food spots, and cozy cafes, making it super easy to grab a bite anytime without venturing far. It's perfect if you love exploring local eats on foot.
That said, the moment I entered my room, I was hit with a quite unpleasant smell that lingered throughout my stay. It was off-putting and made the space feel less inviting, despite the decent cleanliness otherwise.
Nonetheless, it was nice to stay here overall. The staff were friendly, the bed was comfortable, and the value for money was solid given the prime spot. I'd return if they freshen up the rooms, but it's a good budget option for location-driven travelers.
