I really loved hearing the history behind all the landmarks. Alper, who was our guide, explained everything so easily understandable. He was also very kind. It was a wonderful experience of all time.

It was a tour for 6 people! Our guide was really friendly, and we had a great time. The places we stopped at along the way, like the fashion show and the dishware shops, were expensive, so it's better not to buy anything there. It was truly beautiful, to the point of being breathtaking.

I really enjoyed it. The guide's English pronunciation was very clear, which made it easy for me to understand, even though my English isn't very good.

We had a great time on this tour. Our tour guide Alper was so informational, friendly, kind and very patient with us. We were pleasantly surprised with the small your group of 6 pax and had a pleasant time with the other tourists. Alper also recommended us areas to take the best pictures and stopped at each stop long enough enough for us to explore on our own. If you are looking for a nice, calm, informative, chill and friendly tour, do this! We had a great time learning about Cappadocia!

It was a very satisfying tour. Ferman's explanations were clear and he was very kind. Also, when I asked if I could change the hotel for pickup and drop-off on the day of the tour, they agreed, which was a great help. It seems I chose a different ticket plan, and paying on-site ended up being more expensive, so I recommend booking a plan that includes tickets. (It was an additional +€28 on-site)

I was deeply moved by the magnificent scenery, which is unlike anything found in Japan. It was a great activity, allowing me to exercise while enjoying nature. Please note that during the tour, shops and restrooms only accepted cash.

Historical Significance

Uncover the layers of history at Kaymaklı Underground City, a testament to human resilience and strategic brilliance. Originally built in the 7th century BC, this subterranean refuge was later expanded by early Christians fleeing persecution. It served as a sanctuary during the Arab-Byzantine Wars, highlighting its importance as a stronghold. Culture and History

Kaymakli Underground City dates back to the 8th century A.D., when Christians created this refuge to protect themselves from invaders. Expanded during the Byzantine era, it served as a sanctuary during the Arab-Byzantine wars and later against Mongolian incursions. The city's tunnels, once connected to Derinkuyu, reflect a rich tapestry of history and resilience. Kaymaklı Underground City is a testament to the ingenuity and adaptability of its ancient inhabitants. As part of a UNESCO World Heritage site, it stands as a symbol of cultural heritage and historical preservation. It served as a shelter for thousands during times of conflict, including the Arab-Byzantine wars and the Mongolian assaults. It was a haven for Christians during the 14th century and remained inhabited until the early 20th century. The city was rediscovered in 1963 and opened to the public in 1964, later earning UNESCO World Heritage status in 1985.

Unique Architecture

Unlike its counterpart Derinkuyu, Kaymakli's tunnels are lower, narrower, and more steeply inclined. The design of each room revolves around ventilation shafts, ensuring a sustainable living environment for its inhabitants.

Economic Prosperity

The numerous storage rooms within the city hint at a time of economic stability and prosperity, offering insights into the daily lives and trade practices of its former residents.
