This will go down as one of my favorite things we did in Japan. The host are amazing and helpful. Should highly encourage anyone to go if even slightly interested.

We had an amazing time feeding the friendly deer at Nara Park, followed by a serene visit to the temple (separate ticket required). The walk through the Bamboo Forest in Arashiyama was especially relaxing thanks to the cool weather. Our tour guide, Joanna, was exceptional—she shared detailed historical insights and made the experience truly enriching. After the Bamboo Forest tour, we were given free time to explore on our own. Unfortunately, I misread our Sagano train return ticket and missed the scheduled bus back. Despite the strict timing, Joanna kindly stayed behind, watched over our luggage, and even helped us get tickets to Kyoto Station. Her support meant the world to us. Thank you, Joanna—we deeply appreciate your help!

This is a great workshop! We had an amazing time with Kanako as we made our sake cups. Kanako welcomed us with tea and some sweets and explained the process really well. It was great fun to create our patterns on the cups and make the finishing touches. And when everything was done, we even got to test our cups with some delicious sake! Thoroughly recommend this hands-on workshop.

The instructor is awesome, and the photos turned out great! They provided immediate assistance whenever I had questions during the class. Plus, I got to take my shuriken home after finishing it. But... customs threw my shuriken away. I'm so bummed.
