Nara & Uji Day Trip: Nara Park & Todai-ji Temple & Uji & Genji no Yu Onsen | Depart from Osaka

Yuri was polite, friendly & informative . Nara park & Uji is a must 4 all tourists. The deer are sacred & rule Nara park. say Lei & the bow , but you must feed them !

The day tour was exactly as stated on itinerary so no surprises or changes, and it was a winderful and relaxed day. Nara park was quite fun, you get deer crackers to feed the deer - they do politely bow as well although they can be pushy and follow you for more treats. The temple was also very beautiful. Plenty of time to explore Uji area - the autumn colors of the trees along the river=love! The temple reflection on the water was mesmerizing. It would have been awesome to have quick tour of a matcha field but overall - the matcha stores will satisfy any matcha cravings. Yang was our tour guide for the day and he is A+ awesome - informative, friendly, and helpful! Highly recommend! Our bus driver was great as well and kept us safe on the road. Highly recommend this day trip for hassle-free tour day especially if traveling with seniors or kids - relaxed and just enough time to explore Japan’s beauty.

Today we had the pleasure of having Ms. Yurika as our guide, and the experience was truly wonderful from start to finish. From the moment we boarded the bus, she provided clear and engaging explanations about the history of the places we visited. Throughout the day, Ms. Yurika demonstrated outstanding professionalism, kindness, and dedication. She remained attentive to the group at all times, ensuring everyone felt comfortable and well-informed. Her detailed explanations of the customs and traditions of each temple made the experience even more meaningful and enriching. She was always willing to help and made sure all our needs were met, which made us feel truly cared for. Thanks to her enthusiasm and knowledge, the tour was not only informative but also very enjoyable. My family and I had an amazing time, and this experience will remain unforgettable for us. This tour is a great way to visit Nara and Uji. The time allotted was enough to tour each site. Also, our guide, Yurika, was very informative and guided us accordingly. She was also very accommodating to questions and requests.

On my first trip to Nara, I really didn't expect there to be so many deer – it was almost scary! Seeing the hordes of them swarm you for deer crackers, bumping into you, biting at your clothes, and even trying to eat the dolls on your bag was quite frightening 😱. Entering Todai-ji Temple felt like a huge relief, finally escaping the deer! I also understand why there aren't many food vendors here, haha! Todai-ji itself is truly magnificent, and the Great Buddha is awe-inspiring. Leaving Nara and heading to Uji, I found it to be much more serene than Nara. Whether walking through Byodo-in Temple, the shopping streets, or along the Uji River, it felt so relaxing. The matcha ramen was delicious, although the matcha takoyaki and gyoza didn't have a strong matcha flavor, they were still really good! Since we had a young child with us, we skipped the onsen and instead enjoyed a leisurely appreciation of Uji! Our tour guide this time was quite young and seemed a bit inexperienced, but I could tell she had a soft heart, constantly wanting to wait for late passengers. However, since there was a whole busload of people waiting, the driver had to leave after stopping twice without them. Having been on quite a few day trips, I've noticed that many tour guides are quite interactive with the passengers on the bus. This guide must have been new; I hope she improves with time!

Today's tour led by Etta is fantastic! She is very energetic and super passionate on showing us where we could go; although we think that it might be better if the tour allows us to stay at Nara longer, overall it is a very convenient trip to go through Nara and Uji and see the very important sites

As it was my first trip to Japan, it helped me a lot to discover places. Keep in mind the temples and sites you want to visit, as there's a lot of walking involved and sometimes time isn't enough. Entrance fees to the temples are very affordable, not exceeding $100 Mexican pesos, and I believe it's a delight to observe each temple and its structure (incredible gardens), etc.

Everything was good could wish there was more time to explore Nara as I could get lost in there for hours and hours and still find something to be mesmerised at. although I really did get lost in a forest so make sure to read the signs properly if your gonna look for all the shrines and temples located around Nara. if your not going to the unseen you’ll spend 3hours in uni which was really nice I was able to walk to every temples and shrines and even have time for lunch and indulge in matcha flavoured desserts. allthough I don’t recommend plain matcha itself as it is quite blend in a way .

A big thank you to our director and driver, Kangfu! He led us on this perfect day trip, connecting Nara's adorable deer, Uji's matcha, and an evening hot spring bath into one wonderful experience! When we arrived at Nara Park, since I was traveling alone, he thoughtfully took photos and videos of me feeding the deer. I'm so grateful! He also kindly explained the precautions and details when we headed to the hot spring. Thank you for letting us experience the gentle charm of Kansai; this memory is as long-lasting as the aroma of tea, worth savoring again and again. I sincerely look forward to our next meeting!

Our tour guide, Vivi, was very attentive. A few minutes before our meeting time, she called to confirm if we were heading back. Because of the rain, my friend and I decided to skip visiting Byodo-in Temple and opted to go to "Genji no Yu" hot springs instead. It was a fantastic experience! The hot springs had excellent quality and service!
