Remake Your Own Kimono Experience in Tokyo
- Choose your favorite antique kimono from over 340 types and remake it to take home. Once done, you will be able to wear it by yourself!
- Learn how to remake Kimono; Using iron and hemming tape to make it. Decorate the kimono you made with easy-to-wear obi, obiage, and obi-string.
- There is an additional charge for purchasing an obi (starting from JYP 4,000), but you are welcome to wear it for free for a photo. When you buy an obi, you will also receive an obiage and objime as a gift!
- We received the Gold Award at the Omotenashi Selection, which is given to outstanding products and services selected by a panel of foreigners living in Japan.
What to expect
It takes about 40 minutes to put on a kimono. This experience allows you to remake the kimono so that it is easier to wear and take it home. We won the gold prize at the famous OMOTENASHISELECTION, where about 30 companies are selected from over 1000 companies. Reservations are also accepted for men. Since the length of the kimono cannot be adjusted for men, this experience will involve printing the kanji for the name and family crest on the kimono.

Good to know
Please keep it note that if your reservation session has a large number of people reserved in the Kiba store, your experience will take place at our Second Store 5 minutes walk from Toyocho Station, not our Kiba location. This is due to space limitations at the Kiba store, and we want to ensure you have the best and most comfortable experience possible!

Reviews
It was a very nice experience. I was the only person participating on that day/time, which was nice because I was able to take my time with the ironing. The woman was very kind and we chatted. The music and rain outside was very relaxing. I purchased the entire set (kimono, obi, obiage, obijime, and collar). The total price was about 21,000¥ including the Klook booking (41$ or roughly 6,000¥). It was a bit expensive, but I think it was worth it as the quality is wonderful. Also this price is very affordable in comparison to first hand kimonos of equal quality. If I had attempted to buy this set first hand closer to the city, it easily would have been near 100,000¥ instead. They also sent me a follow up message with useful instructions on how to put on the ensemble for future reference. Outside of the shop a few minutes walk, there is a small community shrine, which I thought was nice as well.
very very very cool experience, I was tall enough I didn’t have to remake the kimono but we still did so that I had the option for skirt and top seperately. my husband loved this activity and got really into it. it was so beautiful to experience and would recommend to others. you can pay more for better kimonos because these are vintage ones that have some wear and tear.
Amazing! we had a a fabulous time. We were a party of 4. It was only us at experience. The two instructors were really friendly and helpful. I have already recommended to my friends who are coming to Japan later in the year!
Absolutely wonderful experience! Everyone was very kind and attentive. They made sure to explain all the steps to me thoroughly, and I love the idea of bringing high-quality kimonos back to life this way! I will definitely wear mine soon!! I'm really happy, and I recommend this experience to everyone
This was an amazing memory and souvenir for us to take home. To have our own Yukata and Kimono was something that I will never forget. The staff were amazing and helped us through every step. I didnt feel rushed or bad when there wasn't something I could do. There was 6 people total including my group and it felt very one on one. You get the option to purchase the Kimono set and of course I had to! 💓
I absolutely loved this experience. It felt so personal and special, not just an activity but a memory I’ll keep. The people there were incredibly kind and helpful, which made it even more meaningful. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Tokyo.
This was a very cool experience. I wish they had a larger supply of kimono to choose from. I could only find one light weight silk yukata style and it had some staining on it but they discounted it down. There is an upcharge for the nicer Kimono plus all the accessories. Overall I would give it a go again. it was fun
Place was a little hard to find. The 2 staff members were both very nice and helpful. All the kimonos they have are vintage, but nearly every color you can think of. They will help you pick one. I went for an upgraded one and also purchased my obi or belt. Would definitely go again.
such a fun experience! all the gorgeous vintage kimonos to choose from! super friendly staff, very patient, especially when choosing accessories. they encourage you to take photos and video so you can remember how to piece it together later. the experience making a kimono that allows easier assembly is a great idea, especially for foreigners like me 🫣. taking pictures at the end was cute and fun. for those with mobility issues, there is a tall kind steep stairs, not too bad, it is done on the floor, but I believe they can help accommodate. the staff are very friendly and patient, especially when choosing accessories.
We absolutely loved this experience. It's a very personal and unique experience. The ladies there were so lovely, helpful and patient. They helped me to choose an extremely beautiful vintage kimono to remake and patiently helped me, my son and my husband to create beautiful unique kimonos to take home with us. A very peaceful and rewarding must-do experience when visiting Tokyo. Thankyou ladies.
