What to expect
Spend a day at the famous 'Hobbiton' - the beloved shooting location of the Lord of the Rings, and the Waitomo Caves with only the most important people in your life on this small group tour! First visit the world famous Waitomo Glowworm Caves, and go on a magical 1-hour tour through the underground caverns. Learn about stalactites, stalagmites and other limestone structures, and see the Glowworm Grotto lit with glowworms overhead. See 44 hobbit holes, the Mill, the double arch bridge, the party tree - where Bilbo disappeared, and the Green Dragon Inn. You can even take photos at Bilbo's house, 'Bag End', and marvel at the fantastic views of the entire set in the distance.

A group of about 10-11 people directly pick up and drop off at the house is very convenient. The driving time is relatively long. The round trip is about 5-6 hours. The friends on the bus are full of long feet. It will be more difficult. The tour along the road and the Habib village are Chinese. If English is not good, this is a good choice.
I personally enjoyed the cave to see the glow from the number of glow worms. It gets cold down there and I will encourage you to wear something warm. No photos were allowed once inside the caves though, just enjoy the views and awe by the nature inside. The hobbiton is a scenic landscape with a fine touch of movie magic. It’s quite a touristy site and gets crowded easily. The private bus ride can get pretty Long, and overall it’s still worth it! Cheers!
The driver and tour guide are really good people. Any questions will be answered by me. And the service attitude is very good.
Taking a day trip can save you inconvenience in transportation. The tour guide will speak local knowledge along the way so that you will not be bored when you take the car. The guided tour of the Hobbit Village is more urgent but still has time to take pictures.
Our trip was exceptionally great day from start to end. Joseph was very helpful/kind and we had a fabulous time at the main attractions including extra experiences: feeding pigs, tree-vine kiwis and alpacas along the way! lunch was bonus as well! a must adventure when in New Zealand 👍🏻

It was a wonderful experience! We get to see the gloworms glowing in the dark as we ride on the boat going around the cave. Have to remain quiet in the cave and no photo taking is allowed!
