Doubtful Sound Overnight Cruise

we had the rarest fine days for the most wonderful experience. Our room has a queen bed and two windows gave us the unobstructed view of scenery. the shower and flushing toilet are normal. The water was so calm and the ship just gliding smoothly. The crew worked really hard and it’s like clockwork they attended everything perfectly. The food was fabulous and we were treated with snack like fresh from the oven scones with cream and jam, free flow self serve tea and coffee. you can purchase other drinks from the bar, put it on tap and pay before check out with card only, no cash. Dinner and breakfast are buffet style the arrange each table taking turns so there was not long queue, everyone on board behaved in a civilised way. we think it’s good value for our money considering all inclusive of coach transport to pier for the first 1 hour ferry, followed by 1 hour coach to doubtful sound pier, overnight ship to cruise the doubtful sound all the way to near the Tasman sea ( weather permit), kayaking, boat excursion to the surrounding area for closer look of the native habitats, we saw bottom nose dolphins, birds and penguin. The guide talk along the cruise was very helpful for us to understand the history of the scenery and the geographical formation of what we see. The highlight was the Golden Silence in which the ship was in a bay and the engine turned off for few minute all sound and gadget was turned off just enjoy the silence with only birds singing in the surrounding mountains, Pure relaxation with the freshest air you can breath in! The truth is that no one gets the same experience as it’s heavily weather dependent but the hospitality is guaranteed and leave the rest to the nature.

It's really spectacular. There aren't many reviews here, but it's really beautiful. It feels like entering a Jurassic Park movie. The fee includes transportation, two meals, and you can sleep in a canoe for one night. It's actually very worthwhile

Friendly crews, beautiful view and comfortable facilities inside the cruise. This is a recommended activity when visiting NZ.
