Daming Mountain

Daming Mountain Scenic Area is located in western Lin'an, adjacent to Anhui Province. It belongs to the remnant range of Huangshan Mountain, inheriting the strange peaks and rocks of Huangshan while possessing the clear and beautiful scenery of western Zhejiang. In spring and summer, you can go hiking and escape the heat, and in winter, the Daming Mountain Wansongling Ski Resort is a skiing paradise. Exploring the ten-thousand-meter cave, walking the suspended plank road, or taking the dry slide down the mountain are all excellent experiences. If you have good physical strength, you can take the scenic shuttle bus from the entrance of Daming Mountain Scenic Area to "Longmen Gorge" and start hiking. Along the way, the trees are lush, accompanied by streams and waterfalls. After about 2 hours of climbing, you can reach the Longmen Feidu ropeway bridge, where you can see the magnificent Longmen Feipu (Dragon Gate Flying Waterfall). From here, looking forward, you can see a thousand-acre meadow. It is said that Emperor Taizu Zhu Yuanzhang once reclaimed land and stationed troops in this high-mountain basin at an altitude of a thousand meters, making it his anti-Yuan base, which is also the origin of the name Daming Mountain; walking to the right, you can climb to the observation deck to overlook the seven main peaks, known as "Mingfei Seven Peaks Cliff"; walking to the left, you can enter the ten-thousand-meter cave. This cave, which runs through the mountain, is warm in winter and cool in summer, and was once a mine left by miners. If you don't walk the entire cave, you can first walk the suspended plank road outside and then continue with half of the cave. Along the way, you will reach Jiayuntai, a great place to enjoy the mountain scenery, and sometimes you can see beautiful sea of clouds. Walking straight out of the cave, you can reach the rippling Daming Lake and experience boating on the high-mountain lake. Behind Daming Lake is the Daming Mountain Wansongling Ski Resort, which is open from late December to early March each year. After enjoying the beautiful scenery by Daming Lake, you can go to the ropeway station in front of the lake to take the ropeway down the mountain, or take the 1.1-kilometer-long dry slide from the cave exit down to the lower ropeway station, or return along the original path to hike down. The highest peak of Daming Mountain Scenic Area, Daming Peak, has an altitude of 1489 meters, and the altitudes of all attractions are above a thousand meters, but the terrain on the mountain is relatively gentle and easy to walk. The entire hike up the mountain takes about 4-5 hours. Tourists with less physical strength can also take the ropeway up and down the mountain, or take the ropeway up and the dry slide down, with the entire tour taking about 3 hours.
