In response to the passion of its fans and to introduce a new generation of anime audiences to its appeal, Trendic International Limited is pleased to announce the "Lines of EVANGELION" Hong Kong Original Art Exhibition, which will be held from May 23 to July 12, 2026, at INCUBASE Arena (B2), Mong Kok. The exhibition began its tour in Seoul, South Korea, generating significant buzz. Now making its highly anticipated Hong Kong debut, it offers local audiences a rare opportunity to experience up close the creative essence of this landmark series.
The exhibition title, Lines, centers on the fundamental element that shapes the world of the Evangelion series: the line itself. From the contours of the characters and the intricate structural detailing of the mecha to the series’ iconic typography — including its distinctive use of Mincho-style typefaces — the exhibition artistically reinterprets these visual elements, inviting visitors to rediscover the delicate details that construct Evangelion’s vast and immersive universe.
The exhibition will showcase more than 500 rare original key animation drawings. These intricate works capture the dynamic intensity of mecha battles, the subtle shifts in the characters’ emotions, and the defining moments of confrontation with the Angels. Within every line lives the creative spirit and artistic legacy of Hideaki Anno and the original creators behind the series. Crossing boundaries of language and culture, the exhibition offers visitors a renewed opportunity to experience the profound depth and scale of the Evangelion world.

This "Lines of EVANGELION" exhibition chooses to return to the most fundamental aspect of drawing, directly refocusing on the essential "lines." The organizers have removed all color, allowing us to concentrate on appreciating the characters' outlines, the intricate structure of the mechs, and even to study Hideaki Anno's iconic Mincho font typesetting design. Over five hundred precious key frames (hand-drawn original sketches) are publicly displayed. The venue isn't very large, but there's a good variety of manuscripts, including character designs, scenery, props, and robots – basically everything you'd expect. Some of the designs incorporate geometric aesthetics, which is quite unique. I took my time and walked around for about two hours.
This 'Lines of Evangelion' exhibition returns to the fundamental element of drawing: lines. The exhibition is divided into 7 zones, with each zone featuring works on a different theme. The venue isn't particularly large, and it includes various types of original manuscripts, such as character designs, settings, and designs for EVA-00, EVA-01, and EVA-02. This is quite a unique exhibition, allowing visitors to take their time and enjoy it at a leisurely pace.
The scenery was beautiful and the exhibits were top-notch, but the organizer's entry arrangements need improvement. I purchased a ticket for the first day's light box special, but there were no time slots. The first time I went, around 5 PM, I was told it would be over an hour's wait to enter. I went back around 7:40 PM and had to wait another hour, finally getting in at 8:45 PM. I suggest selling tickets with specific time slots would be better.
I'd been looking forward to it for a long time, and as soon as it opened, I rushed to see it! It was so moving to see so many classic scenes and settings in person. Plus, buying a special ticket came with a souvenir – what a great deal!
So many line art drawings to see, it makes me love Neon Genesis Evangelion even more. So satisfying!

The artwork and storyboards are dazzling, and the content is already incredibly captivating, bringing back memories and emotions from past viewings.
There were a lot of people on the holiday, and it took over half an hour to get in, but the exhibition quality was very high, with many original manuscripts and excellent lighting on site.
For fans of Eva, this place is definitely worth appreciating. The decor shows some thought, and the location is convenient, right in the heart of Mong Kok!
