This is a BYO experience—bring your purchases into the venue and enjoy a personal street-food feast beside the dohyo. Then learn the history, rituals, rules, and techniques of authentic sumo from experienced wrestlers.
Step onto the clay dohyo, try basic movements, and challenge a wrestler in a safe, family-friendly experience.
Children can participate, adults can cheer, and everyone can take photos with the wrestlers. Come for the local food, stay for the power of sumo, and leave with a memory of Tokyo beyond the guidebooks.
What to expect
Step onto a REAL sumo ring — women and kids welcome, unlike professional sumo. Kids aged 4 and up can take part, under-4s free: fun for the whole family.
Watch former professional wrestlers face off just meters away, then put on a real mawashi and take one on yourself. Hands-on, not a staged show.
Set in a real local neighborhood, away from the tourist crowds — Sunamachi Ginza, one of Tokyo's great shopping streets, 140 shops trading since 1932.
Bring your own street food from the local shops and enjoy it beside the ring. Small group (max 40), English support at every show.
Year-round, almost any day. Two sessions daily at 11:00 and 15:30.
