Scent of Memories: Travel Perfume Making Workshop in Busan

A wonderful experience 👍👍👍 The experience far exceeded the price. The instructor, Lee Gyu-yeol Q, was very gentle and explained everything clearly. Communication in English was not perfectly fluent but was perfectly fine. The instructor patiently guided us through the scent selection, and the process of slowly building the fragrance was very therapeutic. In the end, I received my own 30ml perfume, and the bottle is absolutely beautiful. The scent will fully blend after seven days. I'm really looking forward to it! Next time, I'd like to come back and learn painting from the instructor! (The location is a bit hard to find; you need to go through the door between the bakery and the Ha Sam Dong coffee shop, open it, and take the stairs up to the third floor.)

This was a fantastic perfume-making experience. Communication in English and Japanese was not an issue here. Although there wasn't a Chinese speaker, they did have a Chinese presentation, so even with my limited English, I could easily manage. The DIY process wasn't difficult; you choose 2 top notes, 2 middle notes, and 2 base notes from 30 available fragrances, making a total of 6 scents. These are then added in three stages to create your own personalized eau de toilette. Staff were on hand to assist throughout the entire process. I absolutely love my custom-made perfume. The shop is a bit hard to find, but it's very close to Chuo Station (Central Station). It's on the 3rd floor, up the stairs between the coffee shop and the bakery, diagonally across from Starbucks. It's a small studio that offers both perfume-making and painting classes.

I spent the most healing afternoon at this beautiful perfume studio. It was so fascinating to explore dozens of different notes and learn what truly resonates with my vibe. I ended up with a woody-floral blend that feels exactly like ‘me.’ The space itself is so aesthetic, and the packaging is just pure perfection. Definitely the best way to treat yourself!

It’s just a minute’s walk from Jungang Station, which was super convenient, and the workshop itself feels like a charming, artsy café. The staff were so kind that I felt right at home, and the finished scent was exactly my style. I absolutely love it. If you’re ever in Busan, you’ve got to stop by! 🌿

Gyu Cheol (Q!!!) was a very welcoming host and it was easy to understand his explaination of the perfume making process. he helped us with the scent, gave us refreshments, and it was personalised well. I made my first-ever handmade perfume in Korea! I was a bit nervous because I don't speak any Korean, but it was a huge help that there was a staff member who spoke excellent Japanese! They explained each step of the process clearly, so I was able to make it without any confusion and had a lot of fun. The studio was also very clean, and it was an absolutely wonderful time! I want to go again.
