Reviews
The tour fee was affordable and definitely worth it. I didn’t feel tired during the trip because everything was well-organized and enjoyable. The places we visited were all amazing, especially the Yilan Traditional Arts Center performances, Kavalan Distillery, and Jiaoxi. I enjoyed everything so much. We also got discounts when buying products at the Kavalan store, which made the experience even better.
I saw someone recommend this on Facebook, and I was mainly drawn in by the car's design; the 'Cong Tou Bao Bao' (Onion Baby) is really cute! This time, I brought my parents and child to explore Yilan by bus. The private bus was truly new and comfortable. There wasn't a tour guide, but there was a DM in front of our seats with a QR code that provided a lot of information, including an audio guide (I recommend bringing headphones), an itinerary, and coupons... it was quite good. The full-day trip stopped at three locations. The National Center for Traditional Arts and Kavalan Distillery had well-coordinated performances and guided tours, and the experiences were excellent! For the Jiaoxi free time, we explored the town on our own. We went to the hot spring park for a foot bath and enjoyed some local snacks, and we had plenty of time. My top recommendation for this trip is the tasting event at the distillery. The world champion whisky was truly impressive, and it was a rare opportunity for my family to enjoy a good tasting without having to drive. It was a very pleasant journey!
There is no tour guide for the trip. Can just scan the QR code in the bus to get the audio guide from Internet. The tour bus was nice with special livery. An easy way for travelling to Yilan, not rush and have adequate time to stay in each spot.
Highly recommended for dutiful children who want to treat their parents without exhausting themselves! I took my parents on the Yilan FunTOUR bus day trip, and they absolutely loved it! The National Center for Traditional Arts was great for browsing and watching performances, which were very exciting. At the Kavalan Distillery, there was a dedicated guide and a tasting experience, and surprisingly, taking the bus even came with a super cute miniature whiskey glass! Finally, shopping in Jiaoxi and soaking our feet at the hot spring park was fantastic; my parents' spirits were completely lifted after the foot soak. We didn't have to worry about transportation at all since we were on the bus the whole time. Yilan traffic can be tiring, so taking the bus is truly perfect for families with both young and old members.
Bringing my parents along for the Yilan FunTOUR day trip was a complete success! Not having to drive ourselves made it incredibly relaxing. My parents kept saying how comfortable the bus ride was, and the driver was very kind, even telling us where the restrooms were. They absolutely loved exploring the National Center for Traditional Arts, and the Kavalan Distillery was fantastic too, with a dedicated guide and even a small tasting. When we boarded the Yilan bus, we even received a high-quality whiskey shot glass as a gift! Finally, soaking our feet at Jiaoxi Hot Spring Park was truly relaxing. The pace of the entire trip was just right, not tiring at all, and perfect for a family outing.
My boyfriend and I didn't want the hassle of driving, so we chose the Yilan Tourist Bus. Not having to drive ourselves made things so much more relaxing! The bus's exterior was really eye-catching; we could spot it from a distance, and we even received a cute wine glass as a gift. Kavalan Whisky Distillery was my favorite stop. Besides seeing the whisky-making process, we could also use discount coupons for a tasting experience—anyone interested in whisky would absolutely love it. Finally, soaking our feet at Jiaoxi Hot Spring Park instantly melted away all the travel fatigue. We didn't have to worry about transportation at all; just following the bus made for a super easy trip, perfect for a laid-back itinerary!
This time, my friends and I chose the Yilan FunTOUR bus, which completely freed me from the worries of not wanting to drive and fearing traffic jams. The bus exterior was super cute, and the first stop, the National Center for Traditional Arts, was incredibly interesting; you absolutely must see the performances! We also tried indigo dyeing, which was really fun! At the Kavalan Whisky Distillery, the tour guide was humorous and easy to understand, and making our own whisky was truly awesome—I even bought two more bottles before leaving! Finally, we went to Jiaoxi Hot Spring Park to pick out souvenirs and got to eat the long-awaited "Zhenghao Fresh Meat Xiaolongbao"! Lastly, I have to give a big shout-out to the driver, who was really nice—he even thoughtfully lent me an umbrella when I didn't have one! The bus ride was genuinely comfortable! I really highly recommend it!!
Great and convenient tour. I was planning to DIY my Yilan trio but upon seeing this, I chose this tour instead as it is more convenient. It just feels a little fast paced so you have to manage your time in each location. As an advice: for National Center of Traditional Arts, you can watch 2 shows and there is still ample time to check on the shops. For Kavalan, you can try the whisky tasting, and just takeout the whiskey pudding (or anything from Mr Brown. If you choose to do both and dine-in, manage your time). Then try buying whisky from the shop, there is a tax refund immediately in the shop and I think theres exclusive whiskeys only in that shop. For the Jiaoxi hotspring, if you did a separate hotspring booking, you can only do that. The other option is to go to the public footbath (free) and explore some food stalls.
This Yilan sightseeing bus tour was incredibly interesting and enriching! First, we visited the National Center for Traditional Arts, where we enjoyed a spectacular performance of the Monkey King in Taiwanese opera. The show was lively and engaging, drawing everyone in and offering a deeper appreciation for the charm of traditional theater. Next, we headed to the King Car Kavalan Whisky Distillery. A professional guide provided a detailed explanation of the whisky-making process, and we even got to sample the distillery's unique whisky-flavored ice cream. The whisky aroma was rich but not overpowering, making it enjoyable even for those who don't usually drink alcohol. They also offered a NT$200 discount voucher and a 10% off coupon. Afterward, we relaxed at Jiaoxi Hot Spring Park. The park has free foot-soaking pools, perfect for unwinding and easing travel fatigue. Nearby, there's also a paid fish spa experience, which added a fun touch. Finally, we made a stop at Yishunxuan to purchase famous Yilan souvenirs, bringing this trip to a perfect close. The overall itinerary was relaxed yet fulfilling, making it ideal for families with children or groups of friends.
Perfect for solo travelers! No need to worry about transportation arrangements, and no awkwardness. It's very pleasant to walk around with headphones on, listening to the audio guide. We waited for the boarding announcement at the Kamalan platform on the fourth floor of Taipei Bus Station, and the staff who verified our tickets were friendly and professional. Upon arrival at the National Center for Traditional Arts, we just showed the same QR code for entry, and it was very comfortable to explore at our own pace. The distillery tour was lively and interesting; even if you don't drink, you can use the voucher for coffee and snacks. The 10% discount coupon provided can be used for all items in the first-floor shop, which is quite a good deal. Finally, we bought souvenirs in Jiaoxi to share with family back home. Overall, this itinerary is very friendly for solo travelers.
