The Zoo Taiping, a zoological park located at Bukit Larut, Taiping, Perak, Malaysia. Established in 1961, it is the only zoo in northern Malaysia. It is one of the major zoological parks in Malaysia. It covers 36 acres and exhibits 1300 animals representing 180 species of fishes, birds, mammals, and reptiles.

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour. We were pleasantly surprised that when we were picked up we were the only ones on this tour so made it very personalized. Our guide, Mr Gooi and driver Raymond Ho made it very enjoyable, discussing a number of landmarks and general conversations along the way. The orangutans especially was a great experience.
