What to expect
- Starting from Lijiang Old Town in the early morning, we first drive to Tiger Leaping Gorge (Shangri-La section), a magnificent wonder on the Jinsha River, renowned for its perilous beauty. Along the way, you will witness the profound depth of the gorge and the surging waters of the river. After a brief stop at Tiger Leaping Gorge to experience the majestic power of nature, we continue our journey to Shangri-La, enjoying the plateau scenery en route.
- Upon arrival in Shangri-La, after a short rest, we will head to Baishuitai (White Water Terraces). This is the birthplace of the Naxi Dongba religion, where calcium carbonate deposits from the spring water have formed unique natural terraces, earning it the reputation of “Fairyland Terraces.” Strolling through Baishuitai, you will be immersed in this sacred and mysterious land.
- The entire itinerary skillfully combines natural landscapes with ethnic culture, allowing you to deeply experience the beauty and charm of Shangri-La within a single day. The optimized touring sequence ensures efficient use of time, letting you fully enjoy every wonderful moment of your stops.
The viewing platform suspended on the cliff is the 'staring point' between the brave and the怒江 (Nujiang River) – below your feet are bottomless abysses and boiling river water, and raising your eyes, you'll see the 'Tiger Leaping Ladder' flanked by 哈巴雪山 (
Baishuitai in Shangri-La resembles a heavenly staircase descending to earth, with its terraced calcified pools like a solidified moonlight waterfall. The blue-green terraced land reflects a magical luster of 'fields left by immortals' under the sunlight.

Review for: Private Chinese Tour
The driver, Mr Liu, and our tour guide, Mr Wang, did an excellent job of bringing us around the attractions safely. Mr Liu is a seasoned driver and handle danger on the road with ease. Our tour guide is very helpful and patient with us as we stop along the way to take pics and wander around. He also stop at scenic places for us to take pictures and help take family pics for us. Tiger Leap is a must-go place, very beautiful. Bai Shui Tai is quite far about 2 hours away but beautiful too. The restaurant recommended by the tour guide for our lunch has very nice chcken soup! Thanks for a great job by both driver and tour guide.
