What to expect
* Step into the mythical wonderland of Aso and Takachiho in Kyushu, as if traveling through a world of manga and ancient legends ✨⛰️
- The first stop is Kamishikimi Kumanoza Shrine, where you can stroll along the pilgrimage path paved with over a hundred lanterns, each step feeling like entering a fantastical scene. This shrine enshrines Izanagi-no-Mikoto, Izanami-no-Mikoto, and Ishikumi-no-Daimyojin. The “Kagura-iwa” rock within the shrine stands 10 meters tall, symbolizing courage and good fortune 💫, while the sacred tree “Nagi” signifies a harmonious marriage and successful career 🌿, attracting many people to pray 🙏.
- Cherry Blossom Season Limited Tour (expected late March to early April, actual dates subject to local weather conditions) Tsukimawari Park 100 Cherry Trees: Famous for approximately 100 cherry trees, when spring arrives and the cherry blossoms are in full bloom, the pink sea of flowers against the magnificent backdrop of the Aso Five Peaks creates a stunning view, making it an excellent spot for cherry blossom viewing and photography 🌸. Strolling through the open, grassland-like park, you can also experience the unique tranquility and vastness of the Aso Plateau.
- Arriving at Takachiho Gorge (Important note: Please manage your physical strength reasonably. The gorge tour and uphill return are both included within a total of 80 minutes. A shuttle bus is provided to save energy), stroll along the gentle walking path 🚶♂️, admiring the steep cliffs on both sides and the clear stream 💧. The Manai Falls in the gorge is listed among Japan’s Top 100 Waterfalls and is a symbol of Takachiho 🌊; the “Onihachi-no-Chikaraishi” (Demon Hachi’s Power Stone) bears witness to the mythical power of Onihachi; three bridges from different eras—Kamibashi, Takachiho Bridge, and Shinto Takachiho Bridge—span the gorge, showcasing the charm of history and nature intertwined 🌉. The “Senjin-no-Byobu-iwa” (Immortal’s Folding Screen Rock) towering 70 meters on the opposite bank, with its columnar joints resembling a natural screen, is magnificent and grand, serving as the visual focal point of the gorge ⛰️.
- Then, proceed to Amano Iwato Shrine and Amanoyasukawara, to experience the origin of Japanese mythology. Amano Iwato Shrine enshrines Amaterasu Omikami, and the cave is a sacred place in mythology, where the story of Amaterasu Omikami hiding in Amano Iwato and the eight million gods gathering at the riverbed unfolded; Amanoyasukawara is an excellent place for stacking stones and making wishes, with each stone tower carrying the wishes of visitors 🪨✨. In summer, there’s even a small surprise of complimentary ice cream or drinks 🍦🥤.
This journey combines mythical legends, unique rock formations, and tranquil natural scenery. Whether you are seeking spiritual healing, photo opportunities, or praying for wishes, you can find your own unique experience in Aso and Takachiho ✨

Reviews
Even though it was raining, the overall itinerary was very well managed. We had a mini-bus with two guides: Zhu Zhu, who handled Chinese and Korean, and another male guide who provided explanations and commentary in fluent English. This was my first time on a one-day tour, and I was surprised that the guides even walked with us. Zhu Zhu is an excellent guide; she provided detailed information about restrooms and lunch options and consistently ensured the group stayed together and that everyone was accounted for. The entire trip was very enriching. Although the schedule was a bit tight, there was still enough time even for those who love taking photos. We even received small gifts at the end! Since I was staying in Takachiho, I opted out of the return trip, and Zhu Zhu was very enthusiastic in discussing my drop-off location. I'm so glad I joined this one-day tour, and I highly recommend it!
Mao did an excellent job guiding us throughout the whole tour. He spoke clearly enough and was kind. Only thing I would recommend is to have longer hours in each spot to make the most of the long travel time. Thank you, Mao-san and Mr. Driver-san.
Our tour guide Mr Mao was incredibly polite, patient, and caring throughout the trip, always guiding us with a warm smile. He even went the extra mile to help me find and buy medicine, showing genuine concern. His professionalism, kindness, and thoughtful support made our entire experience smooth, memorable, and truly enjoyable.
This was an easy way to see some beautiful shrines and experience Takachiho Gorge without a car/driving in Japan. The itinerary allows for visiting things that are remote/less accessible otherwise (mountain roads, rural shrines) which is a plus if you don’t want the hassle of self-drive. Don’t expect a very slow, relaxed pace with lots of downtime — you’ll see a lot, but it’s somewhat brisk. If you want the boat ride at Takachiho, check ahead if you can book it and account for the time. The bus transport between Fukuoka and Miyazaki region (Takachiho) is air-conditioned and comfortable. Kudos to driver for giving us a smooth ride. Our tour guide Kaku-san, was excellent during the activities. He even gave us a complimentary gift (manju snack) at the end of the trip c/o the company.
My tour was arranged neat and carefully. It was comfortable and enjoy. Mr Sun, our tourguide was very energetic and helpful, his pictures for us were good enough 😁. I believe if I had taken this course by myself, it would be impossible both itinerary and cost. And one more plus pont is the nice gift from tour operator, it was very considerate. That's why I strongly recommend this tour for others. wish you all luck!
Took lots of Photos here and I really enjoyed Mr. Thomas as our guide. He explains well, very accomodating and patient. The hightlight of our tour was the Takachiho Gorge and we had enough time to explore the Gorge.
The day was long, with many stops and walking to do, but it was completely worth it. The itinerary was well planned out, even though we couldn’t stay long in many places, it was enough time to enjoy and take in the views. Our guide, Sung, was very involved throughout all the tour, even helping to take photos. His attitude really stands out and made the trip more enjoyable! thank you!
Traveling around Japan during the Summer was quite a challenge, but the tour services were the right decision for my parents and me. They were very convenient, and our guide, Thomas, was very helpful. Amazing views, too!
The must see sights in Fukuoka, and this tour made visiting them a lot smoother. Kaku was much more fluent in Chinese than in English, but his English was good enough to get us by and you could tell he tried really hard. Since you’ll be spending the majority of the day on the road, I recommend packing snacks, food, and drinks for the ride.
Our tour guide, LINA was very energetic. Despiter her limited English, she shared a lot of information about the places we went to. She kept the group together but allowing people to roam around from time to time. I still enjoyed the trip despite the sweltering heat. I will likely go back on cooler months.
