Fantastic

Solo stay · For leisure

Madama was my first hostel experience and it was great! Beds were comfortable and the location was great, about a 5 minute walk to the metro which can get you anywhere in Milan quickly. Area is safe and always people around, but quiet. Madama’s bistrot is very lively, so if you prefer a more quiet hostel this is not for you. You can hear the kitchen working from the room but it’s usually quiet by midnight and starts up around 8 in noise. I did not mind this since I was out and about most of the time, but something to know. All the other hostel stayers were great and I made friends. Highly recommend!

Great

Solo stay · For leisure

I enjoyed my stay at Madama! The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I stayed in an all girls dorm. The beds were comfortable enough. I wish rhe shower had a fan, after a shower the whole room would be humid. Also, it seems neither there was no air flow in the room unless the window was open. I would definitely say this is a hostel for younger people. If you dont mind the music downstairs, the extremely thin walls (you can hear people talking in the next room and opening the drawers under the bed), then you should be fine. I didnt use the community kitchen but it was clean when i went in. Metro is near by and an Aldi if you need anything.

Great
It’s a really nice place to stay, but if unfortunately you come on weekends or holiday which they have parties, you will not be able to sleep because of the noise. The staff are really helpful to help with changing rooms if you have any problem and provide free ear plog

Good
The location is good, almost everything in the city, including the centre, can be easily reached by public transport. I suppose, if you are a backpacker in your twenties, you would find the place cool. As someone past that age, you might reach the limits of your comfort zone staying there. The furnishing is vintage/loft style (= is impractical and looks like it hasn't been refurbished since the 60s) and you will have to share the room with several young backpackers which might be more or less considerate of their neighbours. The cleanliness was, well... as it usually is where many young people share the same facilities. The price includes a dinner and a breakfast but these are school cantine style rather than the great food you usually get in Italy. As I said, it's a hostel and not a hotel. It's just not very cheap for a hostel. However, the staff was really nice and helpful. They are probably the best part of the hostel.
