Fantastic
Wonderful as always. Our room was spacious, comfortable and clean. The A/C worked brilliantly and kept the room cool over a very hot weekend. The pool, hot tub, sauna and steam were great. Lovely and clean and never overcrowded. Very relaxing. Couldn’t get a better location in Birmingham for access to Broad Street and the Bullring. Lovely to be able to walk everywhere. We always park at a car park 5 mins walk away as it’s only £8 for 24 hours.

Late check in, staff left us waiting for a couple of minutes at the desk waiting to be attended to, we asked for a quiet room and the receptionist acknowledged this and gave us 2119 saying that it was at the far end of the corridor away from the lift and we were really pleased that our request had been acknowledged and catered for. We then discovered that it was actually the room closest to the lift. We went back doiwn and explained and the staff member realised that they didn't know the floor plan and let us know that this was the only room available. I think this was the last time to stay here, enjoyed the place for many years but time for a change.

Solo stay

Treated myself to a night here and given the price point expected a lot and was sadly disappointed. Upon reaching reception I found a queue to check in. There were three staff members behind reception but only one was dealing with guests. This was frustrating. Finally checked in, room was a nice size, the air conditioning was a god send in the heat and the bed and bedding was very comfy. The bathroom was large and pleasant, but showing its age. Then in the morning, at around 9am, the staff started to deep clean the carpets with a carpet washer, which made a dreadful noise. This is not what you want when you’ve had a late night and check out is noon. The hotel is in an excellent location, brilliant transport links, the public areas are beautiful and the room was very practical. Sadly the stay was spoilt by the details and a lack of service that I expected from a hotel at this price point.
