GreatStayed with partner
The hotel is an older hotel. When you shower and someone else is using water your shower goes from hot to cold.

Small older hotel, in an older section of town. We just needed the night to sleep as we arrived late. The staff were very helpful and friendly in coordinating to have our room and key ready in a lock box. If you are arriving late please make prior arrangements. There was another guest, who happened to be on our prior flight, who had not made arrangements, but I gave them the contact information and the staff were able to assist them to their room
Older electric and plumbing systems require you to be careful and respectful. Room looked clean and small. Just the basics and good for anyone who does not plan to spend time indoors for a trip. Did not stay long, AC worked and checked out early with complimentary coffee. Limited parking around front and back of property.

FantasticSolo stay
Ok so let me start off by saying this was the coziest staycation. It was my first time visiting Hawaii and their rate was the best compared to the big name competitors. Booking something small is always scary but when I walked in I noticed how clean it was. It’s super close diners and cafes and there’s a Walmart close by for any last minute items. They have a fridge in the unit and offer AC. In the AM it’s just coffee but when you’re in Hawaii there’s plenty of food elsewhere. This place will stay on my list for any future Kaua’i trips.

Super warm and cozy lodging. Feels like a home away from home. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. My cottage was very clean but it is an older building in general so not spotless. Saw a couple little insects throughout my stay (like centipedes) but with the building being older and made of wood, I expected this. No amenities but they are up front about that when booking and it’s reflected in the very affordable pricing. Cottage had everything I could need; hot plate, rice cooker, dishes and utensils, etc. I will say there’s significant noise. The walls are definitely thin and I was directly across from a pre-school. Front desk does offer earplugs. I would also keep my AC unit running for the air but it also drowned out most noise! Would definitely stay again!!!

FantasticStayed with partner
We got a "cottage" (really a small room connected to others), which included a small kitchen area with fridge, microwave and some utensils & plates. A little tight, but good AC, TV & bed; office area with Hawiian history displays and good free coffee in the morning; nicely tended grounds; good location for walking around Lahue; about a mile to beach, airport or Walmart. Friendly, helpful folks.

Below averageStayed with partner
Very old property. Had a room upstairs right next to the stairs. Other guests were dragging suitcases up right next to our open window. Very noisy. Had to keep windows open because it was very warm and there was NO AC! And no elevator for us to get our luggage to our room. Fortunately someone helped us as we are in our late sixties.
Tiniest bathroom I’ve ever seen! Room is also very small. No night stand or electrical on one side.
Questionable neighborhood. The front desk is behind glass/plastic and closes at 8 pm. Heard sirens nearby 4 times and fireworks close by.
The positive notes- very close to airport and inexpensive. Which had us saying “you get what you pay for”. I would definitely pay more at another location in the future.

GreatStayed with kids
A quick drive to the harbor (good eats, beech, indoor mini golf & a lighthouse) and close to the airport, costco, target etc. we found it a good hub to drive to both ends of the island’s roads However, Lihue itself isnt really walkable and the north side (Hanalei) which has a cuter towny vibe and great food & drink is ~45 mins drive away. Not a ding but worth knowing up front
