Below averageStayed with kids
First time staying at a La Quinta. I loved that they were dog friendly. Sadly our room had ants. They gave my husband a can of raid to handle the issue himself. That was kind of odd. Then the following morning I needed additional washcloths. There was only one at the desk so the clerk went to get more from laundry. Got into the shower and discovered they were in fact dirty washcloths! One was stained the other one was covered in dark curly hair. Absolutely disgusting! Instead of taking accountability she reassured me “she wouldn’t do that. The hair wasn’t there when she gave them to me” I reassured her there was no hair on my body they resembled the hair in the towel. Perhaps she was just distracted on her phone with her over the ear headphones on and grabbed the first thing she saw. Someone else stepped in and assisted me and made sure the washcloths were clean and apologized. La Quinta asked for a review when we checked out. Which then prompted what I can only assume was an AI response from the GM apologizing and reassuring me she would talk with the staff member. The location is great but would suggest finding a different hotel!

Good There were dogs everywhere. We checked in after dinner and left at 8:30 in the morning, and I have never seen so many people with their dogs on a leash in the lobby in my life. They were barking in the morning in their rooms on the second floor.

Breakfast was poor. Previously I visited this location and there was more food varieties. No yogurt, no fruits, no waffle. One type of bagels were not fresh.

GoodStayed with kids
The hotel’s location is excellent—it’s very close to Ruby Falls and Rock City, making it a convenient choice for sightseeing.
However, our stay had several inconveniences. We were assigned a room on the third floor, but the elevator was out of service due to ongoing construction. For a family traveling with children, this was especially difficult since we had to take the elevator to the fourth floor and then use the stairs to reach the third floor.
The complimentary breakfast had very limited options, which was a bit disappointing, although it was adequate.
What stood out the most was the lack of customer service during check-in. We asked if the hotel could provide an extra bed as a gesture to help compensate for the inconvenience caused by the non-functioning elevator. The staff member told us they had extra beds available but that there was no one to bring one up to our room. Unfortunately, no alternative solution or effort was offered, leaving us feeling that our concerns were not taken seriously.
